Thanks for teaching me these stuff! I will take out my anti-English behaviour and take in phrasal verbs into my life. English shall take over my mind and with any troubles, I’ll take it up to my english teacher. +KuDo Shieji No big deal but, for your information, what you call "two-word verbs" are called "phrasal verbs". They can be very challenging to learn, among other things. All the best to you in your "learning journey", as they say! :)

Use "compare to" when u are citing similarities but use "compare with" when giving differences.

Regarding the "Take on" There's that very famous song named "Take on me", and the next verse is "take me on", do both those sentences mean "confront me"? This is a genuine question.

Renan Colombini Renan, you're talking about the A-ha's great song, right? I think the meaning in the song is more like "take me in", as the teacher has shown. He says "take on me" as if it was "take me with you, cause I love you". My opinion, OK?

what about the sentence: " *Take* me *down* to the paradise city... " (Paradise City - Guns n' Roses)

It's a local reference. We suppose that the Paradise City is located at the south of your geographical position. So they take me down to the Paradise City or take me down to Monterrey,cause both cities are located in the south.

Same Thing happens when talking about the North with the word "up". Like "I'm shipping up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys. Cause Boston is located at the North of the Usa.

Pretty weird actually, cause it's used for apprentices or pupils, like you teach a profession to someone and one day he/she will be ready and good enough to do on his/her own.

"I'm taking my dog under my wing?" sorry that's wrong sentence. .You can say "I'm taking my dog for a swim". You can also say " I'm taking Mrs. Smith workers under my wing"- that means "I am taking Mrs. Smith workers under my supervision" = that means I am responsible to Mrs. Smith workers.".
