Thank for this lesson!🙏 I have some questions. If I read and I come across words with double “oo” how do I know which ones have long sound and which ones have short sound? And is there any way that I can teach my kids to make the difference on when to write with double oo, letter “u” or “ou” ? Or is just learning the words as it is? Thank you!

Useful explanation, Emma! This is also confusing for beginning readers, as sometimes words in English are pronounced one way, but it's spelled in the "opposite" way!

Why? So, as a Roamanian , how would I know when to round my lips and when to spread my lips? I know there is a difference but why does it sound different? What makes boot sound different than book????

Actually, the vowel sound in these families: ook, ould, pull, bull, etc. is indeed shorter but it is NOT short u. The short u comes in closed syllable only, in words such as up, much, crunch. Your drawings and video is nicely comprehensive. Thank you.
