There is one KZbinr who is by no means a girl but a grown woman but talks like a 5 year old. It’s very difficult to listen to and i think it effects these woman’s relationships too. It’s not very sexy unless the guy is into kids.

This lesson is great! I'm from Japan and raising my son (18 months old) in the US. I went to a university in the US have been working here but baby talk in English is a whole new language! I had some basic baby talk vocabulary but this lesson really helped me review them and build new lines of words :)

I would recommend NOT saying 'shit' or 'ass' in a professional setting. They are considered swear words. Poop or Butt (bum in British english) are much better and more neutral words. If you are mentioning going to the toilet, do not say "I am going #1 or #2." That is actually used more for children, and nobody needs to know what you are doing in the bathroom. Say "I need to use the restroom/bathroom" in the US, or "I need to use the toilet" in the UK. "I need to use the loo" is an informal way to say it, but only in the UK.

I met a girl not too long ago because we became coworkers and mostly a team. She’s extremely sentimental and sensitive, and despite her age, I’ve noticed her mom spoils her too much (She’s an only child). For the past few weeks I’ve noticed that she uses baby talk A LOT while speaking to people, even bosses, and since we work in the animal field, she tends to say stuff in a childish way (Penis: pee pee, Dog: doggo, Kisses: kithes, etc). I don’t intend to change her, I’ve tried to ignore it but it’s honestly becoming irritating and I can’t focus on what she’s saying I simply focus on the way she says it. Other coworkers think she’s weird and I’m the only one who honestly puts up with her. Is there a way I can tell her nicely to maybe stop doing it around everyone else? It’s embarrassing.

I know this video is 7 years old, but it needs to be pinned by KZbin on the start page. I don't know what is going on in today's world, but the amount of grown adults that feel the need to talk like toddlers is just way beyond annoying. There is this woman that I work with and she uses words like "din-din" and "breakies" when referring to meals, and it is just the cringiest and creepiest thing ever. I think I am going to anonymously email her a link to this video, lol.

This is the video you unceremoniously send to someone who does indeed talk like an infant. No text. No explanation. You just let the video speak for itself. "But what if doing so ends up ending a valuable friendship?" If it's that great a friendship the person will know you mean well.

Nice lesson! The other thing is: there is no real "Baby Talk" but rather something like "parent Talk". The kids can't speak at all so you show them how to talk and most of the adults use these cute forms, although there is no need for it. The kids will need some time to pronounce the word the right way but they still understand you, while using the proper word forms. And as you said, they get older and I find it really weird when parents talk like this to their 2yo (or older kids). Most 2yo understand and talk very much and very good for their age so show them how it is done! :-)

I have a tongue issue so even if I try really hard I won't pronounce R properly. It'll come out as something close to L. 😂 Other than that I hardly talk like a baby. Slangs are an issue I'm trying to fix. >_>

Wow, I love this kind of videos. These lessons teach you some things that the intitutes or academys don't, so it's a really good help! Also this teacher is very sympathetic and funny. It is a good dynamic for learning. Thank you! New suscriber! 💕 (Saludos desde Argentina).

I love your methodology, it's creative, funny and, especially, well done to undertand many English topics, we tend to confuse o use them, in a wrong way. Thanks a bunch, my dear virtual teacher ! ... Greetings from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, South America: Fraternal saludo... Espero sigamos contando contigo por muchos años más! ... *Best wishes !*
