Hey Tommy! It's great to see you getting e-bikes and doing reviews on them, you give out some great vibes and advice for people who are thinking of buying an e-bike, or even working on one - it's really helpful as I remember when I was doing my e-build and the great help & advice you gave me brother, much appreciated and all the best to you & the family from over here across the pond in the U.K!

Good work on the video. As far as Re Gen! My experience in the gear drive hubs is high failure rate! Due to plastic parts! You need high-level gear, planetary, ring gear, and sun gear. With extreme duty bearings! For now, D.D. (direct drive hub motor) A#1 is efficient for Re-Gen, Dynamic-Braking.

Great video...Great review....Great explanation on handlebar install. Fenders...I used black permatex adhesive on attachment points and "flex seal" type tape....a few inches on the underside of each end and my fenders are now silent. Tape acts as a dampened and stops pebbles from clanging....
@E-bikeguy7 ай бұрын
Oh ok I'll try that method, especially off road they make a lot of noise
@IMBruceECLECTIC7 ай бұрын
@E-bikeguy ...I made a video of it on my new (4 week old or so) KZbin Channel...@IMBruceECLECTIC. How to stop brakes from making noise and fenders from rattling. The brakes on your new bike probably need to be "bedded." But I am a Newbie to it all....one reason I subscribed and like your videos

I've seen one of these unboxed before & yeah, they seem to care about the quality? I mean, sending it back to China might get expensive? I like their welds of the front forks, IDKnow much about the actual quality of their electronics but the welds / paint and how they wrap it up says they care about the looks. What did you think about the handle bars , I mean from the camera view they seemed narrow(inches across) which could take away from handling of the bike? I liked how sturdy the bike was; thick piping for the rear storage bracket & again I liked their attention to welding. The bike looks short? I'm critical since I think this bike was fairly expensive but thanks for unboxing her for us..... be safe & happy holidays brother

Good video thanks for the review. I currently own a RadPower RadRover 6 Plus. It only has 750w of power but thats all I need as a senior citizen. I was looking at the Engwe X 26 because of the dual suspension. I guess I can handle the 1000w power😊.

Take a look at the Aventon Aventure 2, there is step thru and non step thru versions. I am doing a diy build but my daily rider is the aventure 2 and I love it. My favorite feature is the factory installed brake lights and rear signal lights. You can also bluetooth to the bike to change many settings from your phone.😊

@@user-co3ij7kc7z I like my RadRover just wish it had dual suspension. I looked at the Aventon when I was initially shopping for an e-bike but I chose the RadRover.

Another one of my favorites (I sell ebikes for a living, some 17 or so different brands) are the Moustache FS series, mid drive , dual suspension. They are double the price of Rad or Aventon but at my age , I'm 56, a moustache bike would probably be the last bike I would need to buy , that's how good they are. I almost bought one in the summer but I was about 1000.00 short 🤷🏻♂️. Anyways , happy riding!

Check out the ANIIOKI AQ 177 PRO MAX. Step through frame. 60Ah, 48V or 52V battery. I'm almost 56, and the 52V version is what I'm going to get. I just wish it came with the alloy wheels.

Hey man I don't think youtube showed you the reply, but I don't mind giving you extra comments for the algorithm. The bms of my 52v bike is 40 a continuous, I just put a 3000-5000w motor on, what would be a good controller for that to get me as close to 55mph? Thank you for all that you do, I know you're busy man.

@6:52 I didn’t see the regen test. Is it throttle release regen? Brake sensor activated regen? No regen? How many watts regen did it make? I couldn’t really hear if it had a clutched motor because the super swamper tires made so much noise. But my 14” geared hub didn’t have a clutch so regen would be possible if the controller supported it, which it didn’t, so it was not a pro but a con on my bike.
@E-bikeguy7 ай бұрын
I really can't explain it as I was surprised that a geared hub motor has regen
@imho72507 ай бұрын
@@E-bikeguy , its easy to see if the motor supports regen because there is no freewheeling clutch inside, you will feel it dragging no matter which way you turn the motor. My original motor is like that. Geared but no clutch. But the controller must support regen to get regen. If you see negative watts when you release the throttle then it has throttle release regen. If you see negative watts when you lightly squeeze the brake lever, it has regen. If it has a label on the side that says “energy recovery system”. It means you have a decoration not regen. Lol. But maybe buried in settings it has regen settings. I saw something on the internet that says “I-ERS is designed to provide energy regeneration in one of two ways - 1) ride faster than 14 m.p.h. while in PAS 0/1 which will regenerate 20% of the excess energy back to the battery; or 2) the intelligent sensor will regenrate 60% of the energy created while going downhill since this does not require any energy consumption.” So it’s possible it only works while in PAS 0 and 1 when going over 14 mph, and somehow when going downhill it will recover 60% of what it takes to go uphill. Not very useful in Florida. Lol.

Hey bro, Quick question! I have an ebike called the Morphrover, it's brand new and I'm having a weird issue. When I put it in max pedal assist and I push the throttle from a standstill, the motor makes a sort of jerking motion. like it jerks fast and makes a rattling noise while the whole back shakes, Im 230 pounds so I thought maybe its a weight thing. It doesn't jerk once its actually rolling, so if I start at pedal assis 1 and then when I'm cruising I push the throttle its fine. My self built ebike doesn't have that issue at all. Do you have any idea what it could be ?
@E-bikeguy7 ай бұрын
It's not you it's the motor and controller setup, the engwe Engine pro do the same

I have one. Bought on Engwe website earlier this year for $1,750. Came with two 48 volt 14 amp batteries. Bike is OK so long as you are on completely flat surface. Would not spend money on this bike again. Spend less on conversion kit for regular mountain bike. However, if you are a lighter person(I weigh in at 240 pounds) the Engwe Pro can propel a rider up to 30 mph.

@Doogiecdog7 ай бұрын
Engwe Pro is crappy e-bike. Sorry man. It is constructed of all the same cheap Chinese components that are on almost all e-bikes. And fall apart just as quickly. Most bikes are just different designs. I will say though…if you are on a completely flat surface the Engwe Pro can hit 30 mph. Which is pretty nice for 750 watt rear hub motor. Once you hit a hill-like here in Wisconsin-you are screwed! It’s like pedaling a tank. Buying a conversation kit is better bang for the buck. You make e-bikes 100 times better than Engwe crap. 🤙
