Thank you for the video, so if I understand correctly, unlocking the bike leads to a display of incorrect speed on the screen. That's a shame, but the bike still seems much more interesting this way.

Sadly the bike is "hard locked", to be able to properly program it you will need a can bus interface box and specialized cable which are hard to find for the M200 motor and rather expensive. Engwe seem to be a good company i have the engwe S6 scooter and its great to be honest really well built and everything still works perfect so far done over 350 miles and its still perfect only rhing i would say i check the bolts and lock tight everything and should be fine

Yes on all bikes and scooters you should check the bolts from time to time. I fully agree ENGWE is building good bikes and scooter, especially for the price that they are asking for.

Not at all, but it will drain and use the battery much more faster.

Hello i love this idea But I have just watched 'eVRC' doing a video on this bike riding up hill. I dont know exactly what speed he was going but he was finding it hard work going up a hill and said he wanted to change down the gear but couldn't do i because it is automatic. So will your alteration make or better or worse going up a steep hill ,I have done drawings but cannot get my head around it. Can you tell me please or anyone reading this . Thanks Ken

I have talked about this in my full review, the idea is just to ease off the pedals a bit which is counter intuitive, with the decrease of speed and letting the pedals the automatic hub will downshift. The harder you try to press the pedals it will only keep the gear or switch up if it goes faster. The removing of the speed limit will just allow all the assisted modes to keep motor working up until its limit, which is ~45km/h. And see this for more kzbin.info/www/bejne/qofKap-rq6-XqZI

Does the automatic gear shift still work with these adjustments or will it stay in gear 1? Since the integrated display maxes out around 10 km/h and the gear shift is based on the speed I thought.

The automatic gear shift works great and still uses all 3 speeds and it's not controlled electronically by the controller. It uses simple mechanical principle, that is why it's easy to hack the speed.
