What is the status of the review for your Inline Frontmatter Sync Plugin? Do you have any idea when it will move out of beta? It would be a great workaround for Obsidian not having the ability to execute inline expressions. Which frankly baffles me, as Notion does it with such ease. Anyways, I love your videos, they are very informative, thank you for creating them!

This is great, thank you! I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to Obsidian but love how easy it is to link things together so the user friendliness of the properties update has been great for me. I was wondering though if Metadata Menu could be used to create a two way sync? So in my 'people' pages I could have a parent and children properties. Therefore, if you set the 'parent' property of one note, it would automatically set the 'children' property on the other note?

@@jeffk8900 good idea ! right now pretty much all my fields are still inline so I can use metadata menu functionality, but things like Created, dg-publish (boolean for determing whether to publish a note to my public vault), and things like the hover headers in my video i have as properties

For example here is an example of my classes in metadata menu which is in my Ultimate Starter Vault: #all (used for all notes): - fileClass used by default for EVERY note field (must be set in metadata menu settings) unless overriden by another fileClass. fields include: - Status (todo, in progress, done) - Tags - Links (a link to higher-order/parent note) #input (used for input notes ilke books): - can override fields like `Status` to have more nuance related to the type of note (backlog, consuming, note making, done, archived) - can add new fields under this type exclusive to #input #input subtypes like #input/books #input/articles : - inherit from #input fields by making it a parent - can add your own custom fields on top (but i don't personally for inputs) templater: - have templates for these different note types (all, input) with the related properties - "all" note has status, tags, links - "input" has "all" fields + input fields (ex. URL, author) quickadd: - create template choice to create #input note: - it prompts you to type what kind it is (ex. books) - this will be added using quickadd or templater to the end of the `#input` tag in the note properties to turn it into the correct subtype

You could have just made a link in the property of summaries linking it to the note's specific Heading "Summary"... you don't necessarily need the plugin "Inline Frontmatter Sync Plugin"

Thanks for this great video. When I go to "Add property" - the property fields always are created above the file title. How do I keep the file title above the property fields (which is required to create the weekly note summary that you mention).

i have the inline note title setting enabled so the header is just the title of the note, i think it's in settings -> appearance

you add them youself with the + Add property then you can right click and change the property type

@@itsjohnmavrick But is there an option to choose between properties and metadata that was there before? Why I don't like it? 1. It's very indicative of notion - I couldn't use notion because of it. Why are we turning Obsidian into notion. 2. It - in my eyes - opposes the simplicity and straightforwardness that made me fall in love with Obsidiam 3. I've worked on building a system, a streamline system that works. Properties would only bring friction to that.

For dayly notes, template with property adding working well, but the problem that it is also applyed for weekly notes, as result it adding Week property with Invalid date there. How to solve this?

@@itsjohnmavrick No, it doesn't work. The fact is that tracker just takes the value 0 or 1 and builds a graph. And in these new Properties, the checkbox is put simply by attributing Habit: true/false. The tracker is either looking for the value 0 or 1 in the frontmatter, or whether a word has been encountered, or is looking for text ignoring the frontmatter. Thanks anyway for your time.

I been updated to Obsidian 1.4 but then I get something strange, if I want to have a list of attendees to a meeting summary. If I keep it for example as [[[person_1_name]], [[person_2_name]]] the new version of obsidian doesn't like it. they changed it to a list of text: -"[[person_1_name]]" -"[[person_2_name]]. I don't mind about the change but then my Dataview query is not working well to bring this info to the person note. Do you have any advice what to do? btw this is my query in dataview for the person note ```dataview TABLE date, name FROM "meetings" WHERE contains(attendees, this.file.name) SORT date desc ``` Thanks again!

i personally use inline fields so I am still able to use the comma syntax and include works as normal since it's all one string of text, i wonder why that no longer works anymore. if i find a solution i will let you know
