The Eyes of Truth are the all-seeing, compassionate eyes of the Buddha painted on the Bouddhanath Stupa in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Unforgettable track from Enigma, evocative of past memories buried in the mists of time... Whenever I listen to the musical creations of Enigma, I am transported to another dimension of the spirit! Bravo, Enigma and thanks for the song as well as the video which is imbued with the fragrance of the soil of my beloved motherland Nepal!

It kinda reminds me of a movie by Keanu reeves entitled The Little Buddha and nice video and music there and it connects to the Indian music and culture.
@sadhanarana95182 жыл бұрын
@@wazzup233 The music video focuses on the indigenous culture of Nepal, not India. Although there is a dominant Indian influence, it would not be fair at all to label Nepali culture as Indian since Nepal is a melting pot of cultural influences from the south and north as well as an unique individuality. A blend of Hinduism, Buddhism and shamanic threads are woven into the overall tapestry.

The full lyrics: The mirage of the far land Appears to be horses and animals. Thinking of my mischievous son, I am delighted with happiness. The mirage of the distant land Looks to be sheep and animals. When my little son returns, Arriving from afar I will rejoice.

SMOKEMIST There is nothing stupid or immature about it, its just how our noisy society has made us forget many things. Even Indian classical / folk music for me is very hard to absorb; has a lot to do with my mood, responsibilities, etc.etc. But when I finally do, man is it good!

The child makes the video so real. Love the way he interacts with the elephant but then again it's maybe the way the elephant choses to interact with him. Maybe more so, it reveals how much beauty there is to life when man accepts that he is nothing more than a part of nature. Maybe then, he would realise how much he needs to care and protect it from himself.

I first heard Enigma when they deputed in the late 80s. Upon hearing the entire collection, I wept from my heart. Their first release invites us to relax into a meditative state and let the music be your guide on a journey down the “rivers of belief” of human experiences encompassing birth, spirit, soul, emotions, nature & the passions of Earth, lust, Divinity, Sacred Sex, forgiveness, enlightenment, Death, transformation, rebirth. It’s Fucking Brilliant. To this day, they are my all-time favorite.

ENIGMA - THE KINGS OF NEW AGE Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. Cretu had released several solo records, collaborated with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a new-age, worldbeat project. He recorded the first Enigma studio album, MCMXC a.D. (1990), with contributions from David Fairstein and Frank Peterson. The album remains Enigma's most successful, helped by the international hit single "Sadeness (Part I)", which sold twelve million units alone. According to Cretu, the inspiration for the creation of the project came from his desire to make a kind of music that did not obey "the old rules and habits" and presented a new form of artistic expression with mystic and experimental components. Enigma followed MCMXC a.D. with a series of albums that involved several musicians and producers working with Cretu. The first was The Cross of Changes (1993), which incorporated tribal and ethnic influences and sold over eight million copies worldwide, followed by Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! (1996), which blended the Gregorian chants reminiscent of the first album with the strong intercultural soundscapes present in the second. Enigma's fourth album The Screen Behind the Mirror (2000) started a slight departure from the previous world music themes towards a heavier electronic atmosphere. This evolution culminated with Voyageur (2003), its fifth and more pop-based album, and A Posteriori (2006), a work inspired by the future collision between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, with distinct operatic tones and an electronic spectrum closer to Voyageur than the earlier releases. Seven Lives Many Faces (2008) followed and contained a mixture of classical and modern elements ranging from ethnic chants to rap and dubstep influences. Its eighth album, The Fall of a Rebel Angel, was released in November 2016. Enigma has sold over 8.5 million RIAA-certified albums in the US and an estimated 70 million worldwide with over 100 gold and platinum certifications. The project has also received three Grammy Award nominations. And I have the great honor of having in my discography the six studio albums, as well as the first compilation, in physical format, CD, of this musical project led by the charismatic and main mentor, Michael Cretu. As I mentioned, the six albums in physical format, CD. So I have three copies of MCMXC a. D. (1990), two limited editions, released in 1991, containing the four remixes of the album's four singles, the standard edition originally released in 1990, containing the seven tracks. So I still have three copies of the second album, released in 1993, THE CROSS OF CHANGES. The following is a copy of the third studio album, LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI! (1996), a copy of the excellent fourth studio album, THE SCREEN BEHIND THE MIRROR (2000). I still have a copy of the compilation, LSD: LOVE SENSUALITY DEVOTION - THE GREATEST HITS (2001). I still have a copy of Enigma's latest work, released in 2016, THE FALL OF A REBEL ANGEL (2016). Altogether there are ten studio albums! The Cross of Changes is the second studio album by the German musical project Enigma, headed by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu, released on 6 December 1993 by Virgin Records internationally and by Charisma Records in the United States. Following the worldwide commercial success of the first Enigma album, MCMXC a.D. (1990), Cretu began to write and record music for a new album at A.R.T. Studios, his home studio in Ibiza, Spain. Cretu sampled songs from several artists, including Vangelis, U2 and Black Sabbath. The Cross of Changes was a commercial success. Upon its release, it debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming Enigma's second consecutive number-one album in the United Kingdom, and peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 in the United States, where it sold over two million copies. In 1994, four singles were released from the album: "Return to Innocence", "The Eyes of Truth", "Age of Loneliness (Carly's Song)" (originally written for the film Sliver), and "Out from the Deep". A special limited edition of the album was released on 21 November 1994 on a 24-carat gold-plated disc, containing three additional remixes. Worldwide +8,000,000 units.

Fun fact "Return to innocence" was filmed in Romania and portrays the tipical romanian rural daily life of a simple romanian peasant from birth to death and in general of a peasant like farming the land , taking care of the animals, getting married,etc portrays the semplicity and spontaneity of life and connection with nature,reminiscent to his romanian roots.Mihai Crețu :). Nowadays we are bombarded with technology,thoughts that are not our own,web platforms,all kind of unnecessary information,videos,manipulated and confused.And maybe the answer is simplicity,be clear minded and bind with the nature,the animals the land etc. Life is short so maybe we should all return just for a while at least ,to innocence.

In 1994, the world-famous music band “Enigma” from Germany released the single “Age of Loneliness” as one of the four singles in its second album “The Cross of Changes”. This single was peculiar in a way of containing the unusual female voice singing an extraordinary song in a strange non-western language. Listeners had no idea who the singer of this hitherto unheard song was. It turned out that the Mongolian traditional long song “Tosongiin oroigoor” (“On the heights of Toson”) was performed in this single by singer Nadmid Dechinzundui. Enigma - Age of Loneliness In the same year, the founder of Enigma, Michael Cretu released another single “The Eyes of Truth”. Likewise, in “Age of Loneliness”, this song also featured samples of Mongolian long songs, notably the “Alsyn Gazryn Zereglee” (“Mirage of a Distant Terrain”). Enigma’s album “The Cross of Changes”, thanks to these two singles and the use of exotic Mongolian long songs, was sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
