You delusional person. You watch a card game anime and have problems with tournaments?? Are you high?? No season should be below a C rank. You cannot critisize for some ideas to be reused in such a long running anime, on top of that, it is a card game anime, so there will be a lot of tournaments FOR SURE. So you critics in case of tournaments are nonsense. That there will be a tournament in every new Yugioh, is a given thing. It is more safe to say, that its more sure that there will be a tournament in every new yugioh, instead of the sun rising each and every day in our real world.

Takahashi didn't cut World of Memories short due to waning popularity, he was hospitalised while writing it and a bag that contained story notes was stolen from him by a mugger. He regretted not getting to flesh it out more, particularly concerning Seto's connection to Blue-Eyes. He just had to make due to meet his deadline. Also the anime cuts out a lot of important context.

Putting WRGP in F is DIABOLICAL. Team Ragnarok vs Team 5D’s was literal PEAK yugioh. The nordic gods, the restoring of honor for Jack, the vengeance of Dragan, Crow and Brave realizing they are more similar than different, Yusei and Harald having the most twists and turns in a duel ever, not to mention Yusei dodging 10,800 DMG at the last second and using Harald’s card as HIS win con, I mean, come on. The beginning of season 2 (after Dark Signers) is majority filler trash I won’t lie. However this lasts only about 20ish episodes and then the ACTUAL wrgp arc begins. I know you don’t wish to spoil too much but the difference between pre-WRGP and once the tourney starts is night and day. Not to mention the tourney lasted much longer than the filler before it. Yusei’s evolution vs Placido is an iconic part of the series most look back on as one of the best parts of the series. This response is laughably long considering this show was made over a decade ago but I felt obliged to come here and defend what many feel is the peak of yugioh, clear mind. Good video overall, cheers.

What i like from Zexal to Vrains is that the plot is set up from the start to end. In the previous series it always felt more like something out of nowhere happens (DM suffers the least from it but GX and 5DS very much do.). In Zexal the conflicts are established early Barians don't come out of nowhere, but the existence of the Astral and Barian Worlds is set up from the start. Arc V has all the dimensions and the whole mystery of the Yu-boys set up well, the payoff was the problem. In Vrains The Lost Incident is the reason everything in the series happens, season one is Yusaku trying to gain closure from it, season 2 is the Ignis taking the spotlight, and in season 3 is Ai's last stand. The biggest problem the latter 3 Yu-Gi-Oh series have is the lack of time, all of them suffer from being to short, Vrains especially. Zexal could have gone deeper into the Astral World and ther Chaos power equivalent, Cosmic, Chaos is, while having many definitions, is highly tied to the individual and emotions, Cosmic while we know that it exists and that it is the opposite of Chaos doesn't say much. Arc V has been talked to death but they wanted far to much with little to no time, the whole final battle with Zarc is the best case for it, the only one they care about getting back is Yuya and a little Yuto the other two aren't even mentioned. As for Vrains I don't need to say anything the, had only 120 episodes while it's predecessors had around 150 as a minimum.

I find curious how many people say that Arc-V had a lot of potential to actually be a great series (from the premise of the show to the character desing). Case in point: everyone is always exited to see a new Arc-V character getting added to Duel Links and see how the narrative progresses (since Duel Links' Arc-V world is an "epiloge" of the series). Ruri and Rin received so much justice by making them actual characters with personalities and Yuri was a delight seeing him still being a complete asshole and having no regrets of his actions. And people loved it.

1. VRAINS is definitely the best as the card game complimenting the story instead of the other way around. Its detracting factors are some core cast not getting as much shine and being unfairly undercut in episodes as just where the Ignis War arc ended, you could tell they originally had greater plans for the 3rd arc that were forced to be scrapped. Though the skill level of the VRAINS main cast is the best Yugioh has ever been, they're like at the endgame level skill of the other series from the beginning. 2. GX because it's one of the only Yugioh series to actually show growth and consequences of characters PLUS what happens after those things transpire. It's a full journey as opposed to just part of one. I think Season 3 or the dimensions arc is so good that it sets up the final arc and contrasts the beginning so well that it makes GX so unique and Jaden/Judai one of the more dynamic characters (he literally is counted as 2 characters in Duel Links due to how different he became). While most of the early seasons have that fun slice of life vibe to it, there are some complete nonsense moments (especially in the Society of Light arc). While the rest of the cast doesn't get too much spotlight in major duels, we do get a sense of growth with some of them (Syrus/Sho and Chazz/Manjoume in particular) by the time we reach the end. I also think Yubel is the best written villain in the franchise and the only one who essentially got what they wanted in the end and never having lost more than once (even then it was due to a kamikaze attack from Jesse/Johan where Jaden won by default not skill) [3 & 4 swap depending on my mood and opinions that day honestly because they're very close.] 3. Zexal, but I don't agree with the breakdown of arcs as Number Hunting shouldn't be combined with the tournament because the pre-tournament stuff does not relate to the overall story within the tournament plus those duels aren't tournament duels with the same stakes; and the search for the Mythian Numbers should not be counted with the Barian Onslaught as the goals, motivations, and players involved change drastically between them. I think Yuma, Shark, and Kite/Kaito are great characters with very compelling arcs (and kinda Astral the times they let him be his own character, which they got better at as the story went on). However, the rest of the cast is just set dressing with very little follow-through or just cast aside once they've served their use with a good number of them not being very entertaining. There also didn't feel like there was much consistency with the Barians after they got introduced, and maybe there were plans that got changed part of the way through. Vector and Mizael are the only 2 that felt locked in, the others kinda changed with whatever was convenient for plot, and the reveal of that last 2 felt like it retconned a bit of what we learned about them already from season 1 and even the arc before it (seriously, the leader of the 7 has some wonky hostory and what we learned about Barians would contradict what we saw in Season 1, or bare minimum it should've happened differently or been foreshadowed for that Barian reveal). Also, those 1st few episodes are kinda trying your best to get through it to get to the good part, which does repeat in season 2. 4. 5Ds is a good show, but mostly for the first half with only highlights in the second half of the show. I'm also biased against Yusei a little because he's so many of the fandom's "perfect child" and that they couldn't just let him have that legitimate loss against Kalin/Kiryu. I also feel like the elitist and classicism themes disappeared very quickly, which kinda makes those episodes stuck in the detention center feel like a waste. Dark Signers are fine, but it is pretty clear that Crow's involvement changed mid writing. It also doesn't make sense that the original owner of the Dragon Head Signer Mark didn't have a Signer Dragon at all. The WRGP wouldn't be so bad if it actually played like a team competition where Yusei wasn't responsible for 4 of the 5 wins Team 5D's got in the whole over 30 episode tournament. The other signers outside Yusei, Jack, and Crow (so the child twins and the girl) barely got anything in the second half. Again, timeline story, but the bad guys are using the ones that attacked them in the future too, just to add that in. I really think people put this show so highly because they think Yusei is best boy or they only watched through Dark Signers. The show isn't bad, and it does have some really good parts in the second half, it just isn't the best or "the last time Yugioh was good" 4. DM, I know it's what started everything, but it did its job at laying the foundation for the future shows to succeed. It was the first shot and did well, but it walked and crawled, so the other shows could run. Battle City is still the best tournament arc in the franchise after watching everything. Pegasus, Marik, Joey, and Kaiba are always a delight to see on screen with the story of Yugi and the Pharoah being a fun one to follow. It's just the character out shine the story so much that you look past the mess that some of it is. It also doesn't help that Tristan and Tea don't contribute too much despite always being there, Kaiba and Joey aren't really allowed to get big wins off major imposing characters until Orichalcos, and Yugi (not the Pharoah) doesn't get to have that same level of development or even sense of agency shown that our other MCs do until the very end. He went through many trials, but it was with the Pharoah in the driver's seat and we don't always have a clear distinction of who's internal monologue we're hearing. Though nostalgia has me love it, objectively, it is one of the weaker shows from a writing standpoint. Also, the jump to the final arc was very jarring and I don't think it managed to recover the momentum until we're wrapping up against Bakura. I will also point out that I don't like how it ended Mai's arc as the only other character to be in most of the arcs, I really wanted her to be relevant to plot (like a descendant of Atlantis) or have that moment of being brought back in the friend group. 5. Arc-V is not bad, in my opinion, but it is so much wasted potential and wracked with problems. On paper, the premise is interesting and the very beginning of it jas you curious where it'll go, especially with the unexpected turn that first tournament takes. But then you get to the Synchro Dimension and the cracks start to show with the pacing and the way this show uses it characters, realizing that the actual first red flag is what they did with Yuto. Characters have so much potential, but many don't achieve it and worse, it impacts your main cast because this show suffers from a bloated character roster. You have your new characters, you have characters from other dimensions, your 2 main protagonists have dimensional counterparts, and then you have legacy characters from past shows you have to give time to because they're fan favorites. It really shows when that final boss battle hits and you see how many people are involved and that's already subtracting 8 from that number. Going back to pacing, we spend so much time in Synchro Dimension that at first you just get a little bored with it, but then you see how little XYZ gets and you're a little annoyed, but then you get to Fusion and it's so much nothing burger/who cares that you get upset Synchro is the only one that any form of world building and special treatment (even more than Standard where you started). There are so many moving parts by the end, very little resolution is given, and then the final few episodes is extended epilogue that doesn't end in a completely satisfying resolution. It tries to take the Duelist Kingdom and Battle City parts of DM, the Dimension hopping and depression bit of GX, legitmately just reskins Fortune Cup of 5Ds, and the Barian Invasion of Zexal to mix them all into this 1 story that kinda forgets the overall picture at times. This is also the first Yugioh with so many named and important girl duelists and it really sabotages all of them by the end, even the boys aren't saved from this fate. The Rival of Arc-V, Declan/Reiji, only has 8 duels in the show, which sounds okay at first until you realize that Arc-V has 148 episodes and his duels count for only 14 of them (they're not even the sole focus sometimes of that episode). Arc-V is best explained as someone tried to do Avatar the Last Airbender but with Yugioh and Sci-fi, keyword being tried. It does have some really cool duels, legacy characters appearing with updated decks is awesome, and it has the best parent/family character in any of the Yugioh shows. Arc-V makes you want to know how they'll reach the end, but makes you doubt the choices taken to get their. (I would say the Action Duels were really a plus, but sadly, they don't stick through the whole season like riding and speed duels do in 5Ds and VRAINS respectively)

I don't think Arc-V is bad (it's just too rushed at the final arc), however, I agree that it could be more consistent and it should had given more fanservice (in the other hand, I dispite the "legacy characters"; they were a mistake too, since the production didn't had plans to do it; Ren from the Arc-V manga should be Jack Atlas, for instance). Also, ZeXal has at least 4 arcs, bro: hunting numbers arc, Duel Carnival arc, Barians first arc and Nash & Barians arc. For last: the DM final arc should be a tier higher; it's not the greatest arc of DM, but it is not that bad either

@@fxzzy__ Vrains duels are the most boring by far. Every card has like a different effect for any place it finds itself in (they do something in the hand, then in the field, then in the graveyard, then when the are vanished...), so there's never any tension, you know any time someone is about to lose that they can invent an effect for whatever card they have in whatever place that prevents them fron losing. Also, the results are too predictable and the main cast is too pasive. Every season is: The main characters get locked in separate rooms (or the villains find another way to fight them 1 on 1 in their preferred order), then they duel them following the formula: Is the villain a sidekick? Then they lose when they fight literally anyone. Is the villain the main villain? Then they win unless they are fighting Playmaker. Yeah, there are some exceptions, but they are all also predictable. Its literally the only show when I could guess 100% (no exaggeretion) of the results. I don't think I need to explain how little tension is there. So, you can't enjoy the duels for the plays nor for seeing who wins and who loses. What's the point then? It is literally the only show where I considered skipping duels (I didn't, but I fell asleep many times). You can't even enjoy the story because the main cast is too pasive (with only few, very boring, exceptions) and because they fail to do anything interesting with all the interesting ideas they had. Once again, I love the journey from "Zexal is dumb and annoying" to "ZEXAL IS SO GOOD YOU GUYS OH MY GOD!!!" And considering how often I see that happen, I'm just gonna call it. There are two types of Yugioh fans. Those who love Zexal. And those who haven't watched it.

It's some of the most childishly written characters I have ever seen, where you can predict what is going to happen and what they are going to say from a mile away and that doesn't mention how derivative it is of previous yugioh anime before it. It was eye-rolling cringe in so many parts. The only reason why I am even saying anything is the supposition that people only don't like it because they haven't seen it. I have from start to finish, and while there were characters I liked, it was not nearly as good as this guy made it out to be. It was like DM specifically remade but worse.

Putting Dimension World in B might be the most baffling take I've seen in my entire life. Arguably the best written arc in the entire franchise, especially the relationship between Jaden and Yubel. This would be fine if you at the same didn't put the first Zexal arc into S. The arc that single-handedly made me and many others consider just not watching Zexal. @Kimoxdo i am an amtuer critic. But story wise, there are three things you need. Objective, motivation, and characters, some like to do plot, characters, and story but for me those three are what make a story from good to great. Season 1 is some of the best writing I've seen in YGO and it stories in general. Now no lectures about that but motivation rivalry was set up since episode 1 that Yusei needed to leave satellite to face Jack his old friend, Motivation, plot get ready to face off against a pro duelist ex friend who betrayed me, now characters we can see Jack is bored from dueling scrubs and needs excitement and everyone knows there's only one person whoever matched him in a duel it was Yusei now we spent sometime with Yusei before this knowing he cares about his friend's and what's better for them. It all culminates at episode 4/5 Yusei faces Jack after a couple of years ready for what's to come, then bang Crimson Dragon get introduced now pacing wise story goes hard we get intro after intro keeping you guessing whose going to he the side characters or part of the YGO crew now we get my favorite part the main signers we learn a little bit about them all as Yusei becomes attached to them from his chance encounters Akiza, Luna, Crow (much later) but still that Yusei grew up with Crow and then we find all their motivations then the character development Jesus this development is great Jack feels like a failure he seeks refuge with Carly and it hurts more when she becomes a dark signer, then they have their duel. You can't compare brother this writing is tight nit. Luna had development even though most say she didnt she did when she went through the spirit world was great

>DM: Classic but hasn't aged the best. Alot of the game doesn't follow regular Yugioh but it works. Has a lot of filler arcs. Besides the main 3 and the villains, there isn't much in terms of characters. >GX: A good variety of characters and arcs. It gets better later on but there are alot of individual filler duels. I enjoy fusion but I do think it wasn't best used in series, as several characters don't even use it. >5Ds: A very consistent first season where everything is topnotch but it stumbles, coasts and falls off a tad in the second season. It does have the best decks used by characters. DM & GX were very unbalanced between caveman Yugioh and OP blowout/plot device cards. >Zexel: 2 overall great arcs but there is a lot off padding going on. The duels are very samey with Utopia beatdown & plotdevice cards. There are some great characters but also a lot who just don't do anything. >Arc-V: What hasn't been said about Arc-V? Had a very strong start but fell off starting in the synchro tournament arc, as production was very rushed, with an ending which bored as much as it disappointed. >VRAINS: I don't like VRAINS. Having seen all the series, which one would you say has the best duels? Ideally, they should have great duel choreography (fun to watch even if you don't know who the characters are and why they're dueling) in addition to a compelling setup. For me, I often go back to GX for this. I agree that GX has high highs and low lows (and a lot of low lows), but the highs are often accompanied by incredible duel choreography. Every now and then I'll rewatch Zane vs Yubel and Jaden vs Yugi, which stand out as the best two, but there are others worth rewatching, like the season 1 graduation duel, Jaden vs Aster round 2, Jaden vs Crowler in season 4, Jaden vs Bastian, Jaden vs Alexis (season 2). I love the original Duel Monsters to death, but because the rules are still kinda wonky, rewatching them just for the sake of good duel monsters rather than the plot just doesn't do it for me. Which ones stand out as the best for you, among all series?

really gonna need a breakdown on why you praise vrains so highly. imo it was the most boring series which sucks caused i really liked the characters and story beats. but its rough start with production, and its abrupt ending at 120 episodes only lended to my issues with the series. no character interaction, no downtime between story events, literally no dueling outside of VR, Yusaku and Soulburner are gary stus that either only lose once on screen or only in flashbacks like Yusei, sooooo many dropped plot points (chess pieces, Queen of Soltech, human formes of the ignis besides AI etc) and the entirety of season 2 just sucks so much. i could go on about my gripes with vrains but its best saved when i fully understand your perspective of things
No Sevens and Go Rush just shows how much people want it to fail. But its actually a hit in Japan and I have really enjoyed it. I stopped watching 5Ds after Akiza was officially benched for a second time for Crow. The first time was whatever, but then they had it set up for some amazing character growing opportunities when benching Crow for Akiza, allowing Akiza to fully get into the turbo dueling thing, completely getting over her fears and being able to ride alongside the boys as equals, while also giving Crow a significant personal obstacle when it comes to getting over how he has to miss out on the tournament due to his recklessness. Don't get me wrong, I didn't intentionally stop watching immediately after she got benched, I fully intended to watch the whole thing, but I just kinda got bored a few episodes after Crow came back and never felt like watching it since. Akiza makes things way more compelling, and all of Crow's moments (like becoming a signer and summoning the black wing dragon from his bike) always felt so forced and unearned.

I was on a roll with 5Ds this year, until I ran into a boredom speed bump shortly after Akiza was benched by Crow for the second time. Haven't picked up a new yugioh anime since, but I've been tempted by Zexal ever since I watch this guy's hour long video on it. However, most people say the sub is what makes it good whereas the dub is as bad as people say it is, and I'm strictly a dub watcher for yugioh.

Considering they were androids, it's _possible_ Z-One intentionally built Paradox and Aporia (and by extension his 3 sub-personalities) to be more 'evil' than they should be in an attempt to foster more growth from Yusei since Z-One's favored goal was to get Yusei to evolve further and save the future in a more peaceful way; he just ended up pushing through with the Ark Cradle plan was because he was running out of time. It _is_ still admittedly weird, though, that Aporia and his sub-personas had this whole superiority complex, looking down on Yusei and co. for being "humans", when it was explicitly shown they remember who they were and their specific 'despair'. Aporia might've just been so consumed by it that he views the humans of the present era even lower since they started the path to the ruined future, but that's kinda stretching it. Also don't forget Z-One programmed the 3 sub-Aporias to call him "God", so there must've been _some_ kind of ego tripping there. As for my take on the Ark Cradle arc, I won't deny it had great moments like Rua's awakening, Yusei vs Antinomy, and of course Yusei vs Z-One, but those are almost all near the end, and honestly, the build-up and overall execution really brings it down, especially since it kind of detracts from the setting the first two seasons established. We can always connect the dots and fill some plot holes in hindsight, like Iliaster went through the trouble of causing Zero Reverse instead of just killing Yusei's dad to shut the Moment project down because they wanted to cause a tragedy so horrifying no one would ever try replicating it, and they didn't just kill Yusei because deep down Z-One still wanted him to evolve, but it really feels like it takes away from the ancient civilization cult theme they had going even if you can stretch a possible explanation for their motives and actions to make it "make sense". I think C is a fair tier for it, even with my strong bias for 5D's. For the rest of the arcs, Fortune Cup and Dark Signers were peak, though I'd honestly put Fortune Cup in S tier as well since its world building and characterization were so engaging, and the duels always felt meaningful even within the tournament; biggest example would be Yusei vs Aki, with Yusei trying to get Aki to open up and realize for herself that she doesn't really enjoy all the destruction she causes, conveyed through Stardust stopping Black Rose's self-destructive nature. F tier for the WRGP arc is also fair, but I'd personally put it in D tier just for Shooting Star's intro having Clear Mind.

Error 10:26, the arc went into A tier but you gave it a B in the voice-over. I think for one you're too harsh on the PRE-WRGP/WRGP arc (even if I think it's the weakest in 5D's), and the WRGP portion of the arc is absolutely leagues above some DM filler (imo, though I wouldn't put any DM filler arc as high as you did, especially virtual world). And Ark Cradle is an absolute banger, every duel is full of pathos and emotional weight. Sure, some of the pacing in 5D's can feel uneven post-Dark Signers, and some characters like Aki and the twins were set aside for Crow for no reason, but the Ark Cradle arc stands out as a perfect culmination of all the series' themes-bonds, sacrifice, and the fight for a better future. Also I really don't see how their plan to save the future contradicts itself? They're basically nuking Neo Domino City as a warning against the further development of Moment/the use of Synchros, in order to save every other place on Earth.

I grew up watching those shows, so my tastes changed over time and my memory is fuzzy, but here is my take: Original Vrains Gx (even if i love this the most) Zexal Arc V 5ds They all share the same pros and cons more or less, but Original is the most iconic one with its exotic taste, I watched many anime but none had this unic flavor, and kaiba sacrificing obelisk to summon blue eyes is still the most hype thing ever happened to Yu-Gi-Oh imo Vrains had good decks and the best cast (apart from mc which I hated), story has some interesting takes on ai Gx has the best mc hands down and the best decks design by a mile, it also has the wonderful yubel, but it has a messy story, some high moments and interesting duels Zexal is entertaining but has a noob mc that gets annoying in time, especially with out of nowhere otk cards Arc v is the first anime which tried to make the duels seems like actual competitive gameplay, this would make it first if not for the shallow story 5ds this take is controversial i know, junk (not stardust, junk) is one of the most iconic deck but literally every other deck was horrible apart from blackwing and the demons with no cards, moreover the story is completely random (the only cool part is the last arc which I admit is iconic too), the mc is boring Let's remember that zexal onwards were reboots of the first 3, and i can say only vrains made it better than original

I'm going to give my opinion on your rankings so hopefully it doesn't sound too harsh 😅. GX is my most favorite and even with its flaws, it certainly had less flaws the way I saw it compared to Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains. To me, Vrains is easily the worst one in the series and I've made some points as to why. Vrains as a show has interesting concepts yes, but that can't take it too far as being "Good". GX, 5D's, and Zexal are all infinitely better than Vrains. I'm sorry but whenever I see people rank GX that low on a tier list, I can't really be bothered to take most of what people say about the series seriously at that point but you will be an exception since I respect you. Vrains flaws: #1 Boring main character: Playmaker is pretty boring, and for most of the show he remained undefeated. Now technically that isn't much of a problem since you can demonstrate just how strong a character is, but it made duels feel predictable. There was never a moment where I felt intrigued or at the edge of my seat at the possibility of Yusaku losing. His personality also never really changed except for a few moments of pure sadness. He often repeated his attitude of saying "shut up" to AI and his Catchphrase of "three reasons" got old pretty quick and is not as cool or iconic as the other protagonists. In the real world, he just had no personality and would've been interesting if his duality was drastically different from his Vrains counterpart if in the real world he was portrayed as nerdy and a kind sweetheart to his Vrains counterpart who is like a superhero with amazing bravery. But in the show, his personality is more or less the same, except that his avatar form is more amped up. #2 Badly treated female characters: Throughout the show, characters like Blue Angel and Ghost Girl were badly treated. Ghost Girl out of her Duels has only one win. ONE WIN, and it was against Brave max, and she plays altergeists 😂. And let's not forget Blue Angel's faceplant into the concrete and her 50% win ratio. #3 Wasted Potential: We never got any sort of elaboration or involvement of the chess pieces, the higher executives that worked at SOL tech. They just didn't do or add anything to the story where I felt they could've made things more interesting. Instead they were just there...and that's it. #4 Queen was disappointing: I would feel as though a character like Queen would be built up as a strong adversary for the characters to defeat, only for Queen to have one duel and lose automatically to Ai, ending her intimidating aura, and was never focused on again. #4 Studio Issues: Mainly dealing with the recap episodes #5 Bohman was boring: Bowman was such a fraud. I would at least thing that as a villain who fueled Playmaker four times, he'd at least have one win, but instead has a record of 3 losses and 1 draw against Yusaku, and after hearing that his hydradrive deck was originally Haru, you'd think they'd probably give him his own unique deck for the final duel of that particular Arc but still uses the same hydradrive deck. He was interesting to an extent but his failure to even beat Playmaker one out of four times is an embarrassment. One time is understandable, twice, that's OK, three times, you're pushing it. But four times?! Just pack it up. #6 Go Onizuka's character assassination: After Playmaker helps him out to lead to the defeat of Ryoken, after that Arc he for some reason finds a need to get "revenge" on Playmaker 😐. After what you've all been through, that's the thanks Yusaku gets and you combine yourself with an AI. Those are my explanations as to why Vrains is bad and sometimes I'm baffled by how some can't see that. Again, I respect your opinions though, but I just has to step in. Some of the GX arcs, ARC-V arcs, and 5D's arcs are ranked way too low, and an F tier is too harsh for a few. And the Vrains arcs you ranked in S are way too high my guy. I'm sorry 😭🙏. I've been a fan of the series for over a decade so there's always going to be disagreements, it's cool.

I think you forgot 1 more flaw: *Abundance of High Stake Duels.* Majority of Vrains Duels has something on the line to progress the story leading to predictable results.

You rank VRAINS way too harshly compared to other series. VRAINS is, at best, mid. But nowhere near horrible that you make it out to be, yes you do make valid points but are you trying to tell me that Arc-V and GX, which fumbled their side characters (tbf most YGO shows do this), are better than VRAINS?
@kastlewind17596 күн бұрын
@siphemanana2551 A little tip for you, but you need to give valid points and arguments as to why you think Vrains is just "mid" and nothing more. In fact, a majority of fans within the community think Vrains is pretty bad and I have respect for those people since they actually see the story problems, inconsistencies, and issues within Vrains. I'm even an aspiring author who's on his way to publishing good writing for books and at a glance, yes, I can see the story issues and believe shows like GX, ARC-V, Zexal, and 5D's are better. It's your opinion if you don't think so but if you don't think Vrains was in any way slightly bad, then you are smoking. You didn't make an argument at all no offense except by quote me. I could even go more in depth about the issues of Vrains but the comment was getting too long. A trend I see in the community is that Newbies who get into the series, 100 times out of 100, I always see the experiment of them ranking Vrains highly. This goes to show how low their standards are in stories, which isn't a bad thing, but that they don't really see the issues that other people see. Furthermore they have a hard time distinguishing on what is good and what is bad, what makes something great enough, when to focus on the bad details to an extent, then form a general consensus from there. Again, if you don't think Vrains is bad, and that GX is not better than it, then I'm sorry but I don't respect that opinion to an extent. Actually Yu-Gi-Oh fans that have been fans of the series since childhood agree that Vrains is in fact the worse one and even rank the rush shows above it due to Vrains inconsistencies, badly treated characters and character assassinations, studio issues of recap episodes, predictable and drawn out duels, wasted potential, and Yusaku not having much of a personality. Just for the record, the video is just his opinion. You even have some people who admit that Vrains is the worse one but still like it regardless which is okay. But if you're a person who genuinely thinks Vrains is the best one at number one or is better than GX and rank GX as lowly as he did, then I can't respect that intellectually, I'd only respect opinions to an extent.

There is a part of me that still can't believe I watched Arc-V all the way through. How did I finished that show it was so bad ;_; Can't believe you put S2 of Vrains so high, Bohman is the most boring YGO antagonist ever, every duel with him is a drag and there were like 10 of them in that arc.
@MrBoo7034 күн бұрын
Ikr? He just makes the story so much worse. He's boring, have an extremely inconsistent personality and have way too much screen time. Having too much screen yimr isn't bad by itself (AI dueled in almost every duel during the last arc), but the character in question needs to be good for that to work, otherwise it's just a letdown.
@seqka7114 күн бұрын
@@MrBoo703 It really doesn't help that Bohman's deck is also super boring. In s3 of GX Yubel duels Ryou, Amon and then Judai twice, all in a row. But Yubel changed decks between each match so it didn't feel stale. Bohman used the same deck and the same combo all the time, and the cards had no personality whatsoever, they were literally just lines with legs. Konami didn't even print them they were so boring.

I feel like the beginning of Arc-V really hooks you and shows you how much potential all these characters and storylines have. By the time you realize nothing will come from that, you've already finished the show, lol. Also yeah, Vrains has a lot of good in it, but Bohman sucks and personally, I don't find the duels very interesting to watch, either. Half of them I lost interest during some 20-actions-turn spending forever link climbing to where an interesting monster may hit the field.

Arc-V had so much potential to be good/ interesting, and it was completely squandered. At least it introduced fun archtypes.

Its an anime where playing a card game is what irl translates into a fist fight. What did you expect? XD
@PVQ19056 күн бұрын
That war can be stopped by bringing people together. And Rush Duel is depicted as a way to bring fun, connect people, and understand each other. The show kinda makes that message quite clear.
@FranciscoRamirez-nb4uu6 күн бұрын
@@EnzoGranzotto it's funny because Zwijo tried to use solid holograms to deal real damage with Rush Duels. Yudias didn't like that but in the final duel of the first season he suggested a more violent way to resolver the conflict since his allies were getting real damage during his duel.

One thing i did note was that you rarely highlighted the decks/cards that were used which to me is often alot about the series seeing as the story is important the cards are as well. Not that i think you can do that with everyone but i think some of the series are stronger for its variety of cards vs other who had less new things and variety. 5Ds longer arc isnt the most coherent but it has alot of amazing elements like their different duel opponents and Yusei struggling having to go up against a stratergy that basically gives him trauma due to them being anti synchro. Aki learning how to ride a bicycle which hyped me hype alot watching this and her finding a place with the group. Granted i think she could have been given alot more to do but atleast they attempt something with her vs Tea who does nothing. You learn alot about the different characters which might seem filler but to me it gives a more in depth about them which i dont think Yugioh usually does. Putting it simply the more you enjoyed the characters/lore of the world i think you would enjoy the "fillers" more. I am usually against time travel elements in stories but i dont think they make the cardinal flaw of using it as an exploit. To poke at your "Why do they behave like villains if they want to save everything". Thats not really hard to understand. They didnt travel back in time just to chill and be happy but they went back because they felt that they needed to do what was best for the future of the world which they knew was bad but believed ends justifies the means which isnt anything new. Also i think Jaden got underrated in his dark emperor arc. 1 you get interesting new duelists who each are different from how they previously were , 2 combine that with 2 villains one who serves as the first part one while the other who is consistently behind everything from the beginning of the entire arc to the end, 2 you put the school in a different world altogether with dark world and the dark emperor. The ending to me was also great with it being very heartwarming and original. Problem with Zexal for me is always its weak cast of main of characters similar to Arc v. If your talking about a rehash then Zexal when i watched it just as it came out was just a nostalgia trip attempt at getting the original fans in with Yuma being a dumber and more annoying yugi equivalent. The "bad guys" or enemies in zexal were to me the more interesting characters in the series most of the way in and the duels just werent. I didnt get interested in Zexal until i saw the their opponents which to me is good and bad at the same time. Its good because there is a good reason to follow the series but bad because the only reason i wanted to continue was that those kinds of characters might come back. Arc V atleast gets more interesting to me as the series continued through the dimensions and how you learn how it all connects in the end.
