Ogre Battle angered me greatly for considering me Evil for training my soldiers to be the best to the point that the evil armies couldn't even hurt them. I would never send soldier into a battle they couldn't win if I could help it D: I believed that each of them had families to go home to.

Just Breed is EASILY in my top 5 list of RPGs - whoever's reading this, definitely check it out. Couple of random fun facts btw: Kohei Tanaka did the music for it, at a time when he was only known for a small handful of anime (including the Dragon Ball anime's opening and ending themes.) He's now better known as one of the two composers for the One Piece anime adaptation! Brain Lord's composer, Masanao Akahori, also did the music for Nosferatu. The chime melody for the song, 'Site of Civilisation' in Brain Lord makes an appearance in the choir of the Nosferatu song, 'March 8, 1990'. Kinda neat. lol

Terranigma, truly one of my most precious childhood experiences. A game which still stays with me to this day; I think about it every few months. I'm extremely bummed that people in the US didn't get to experience it back in the day! Maybe if that had been the case, SE would have returned to the trilogy by now in some form, be it as simple ports, remasters or even remakes. It's a real treasure and I wish SE would acknowledge it in some way. Then again, we didn't get FFT and Parasite Eve 1 over here in EU. Oddly enough, PE2 was released (which I loved). Suikoden 3 also was never released over here, until the PS2 classic version made it to the PS3 store at least. That was a real bummer back then, because Suikoden 1 and 2 had a similar impact on me as Terranigma did.

Loving these videos, brother.

I actually do have a similar experience to your flea market story. When I was like 12 or 13, I went to this garage sale with my parents, and the lady had a bunch of SNES games for super cheap. My parents talked to the lady running the garage sale, and found out her mother used to own a rental store that went out of business, and was trying to get rid of her inventory. My parents found out where her mother lived, and arranged a time later that night to take me over there. The lady had hundreds of SNES cartridges, and was only selling them for like $2 a piece. I think I bought something like 15 games that night, some I had played before, while others I had never even heard of. Hell, that's how I first got introduced to the masterpiece that is Chrono Trigger.

If I had to pick one game to play from this video that I've never played before, I would pick Ogre Battle. Incredibly underated channel as many have said before me. The quality of video production increases with every piece, though I wish more care was taken with the writing. Clearly tons of great thoughts are being expressed, though often the presentation of those ideas are frequently done in a similar fashion. Overuse of the term "this one" when referring to a game first comes to mind. If you're ever in the need of free proof reading and editing I'd love to help out. I come with a heavy backgound in scientific report writing and would love to assit with the organization and delivery of the ideas you guys have.

Valkyrie Profile 1 is the best game ever. It's a goddamn masterpiece. The story, character stories, main character Lenneth Valkyrie, villain Lezard Valeth, Arngrim the badass, Odins lapdog; Freya, the music by Sakuraba-san, the 2D graphics and sprite animations, the English voices, "to my side, my noble einherjar", the great magics, the juggling battle system, the sound effects...its the perfect jrpg. Its gotten quite expensive for the PS1 original, but its worth every penny.

32:25 this is kinda fun. There is a technique which launches a note that bounces around the area.

You wanted awesome finds stories? I've got one. Around 2010, I was gifted a game collection from an older gentleman. Like 30 boxed SNES games. Stuff like Brain Lord, Brandish, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Capcom beat em ups, and so much more. I made out like a bandit that day!
