Tater Travels

Жыл бұрын

My first time visiting Boracay! I spent the day enjoying the finer things that Boracay has to offer. My first impressions couldn't be better. Between the three beaches I visited, I managed to hunt down some tasty treats including buko pie and coconut icecream (Coco Mama), and all the mangos a man could want.
I visited a fancy Grotto shrine, explored D Mall, and had a bumpy but exciting trike ride to visit one of the more secluded beaches on the island. Swimming never felt so good. What a wonderful day!

safety tip. when you buy drinks in can (anywhere in the world) if possible to ask the store to wash up the top lid. there was a case of poisoning before where a family drank cola from cans and became sick and hospitalized, they found out that the top lid of the can was infested with bacteria from a rat urine. we dont know how these seller store their products so always be safe and and cautious

Brings back memories of my time there, lying in the white, buttery sand. Boracay wasn't as developed yet at the time. Even then, they already have those green algae which is prevalent during summer i believe. But they say it actually helps make the sand softer. We use Pandan leaves also for rice sometimes. And the leaves are also used for making bags (what we call "bayong"). Most of the time, it's combined with coconut, esp. with the shakes (Buko Pandan Shake). Adds a nice flavor to the coconut. 🥥

there should be a FARE MATRIX posted in front of your seat. if its SPECIAL TRIP, means you hire the whole trike, you pay for how much the total of the passenger as long as it is according to kilometer route w you see on the fare matrix. so for example it says 20pesos for 4 kilometers and the trike can occupy 8 pax, its 20x8=160. it shoud go more or less to that.i guess that should be the xomputation but ofcourse many drivers would try to contract in favor of them so be wise.

Tater you are enjoying life to the fullest in the tropical island of Boracay. Definitely more fun in the Philippines just take your pick where you want to go. From Beaches to mountains or Cities. Philippines has got more to offer... Foods are amazing, Filipinos are friendly and hospitable. More to that no language barrier, they can sing too 😉

Hi, Tater. Please explore the mainland Panay. In Aklan alone there several beaches and other white sand beaches. Hinugtan is now open and accessible to public but only the locals know of it. There are cold springs resort etc. If you drive through Antique, Capiz and Iloilo you will discover a lot. 🇵🇭🇨🇦

Pandan is a type of grass basically. However compared to other greens it's on the aroma group, not taste nor nutrients. In regards to the price of the trike fare, you are also paying for the empty seats, which i Special trip, if you didn't ride from the terminal.

Hey Tater, new subscriber here! If you love mangoes and you're staying in the Philippines until May, come to Guimaras. It's in the same region as Boracay, just go back to mainland Panay and take a 4-5 hour bus ride south to Iloilo. Then a 30-minute boat ride to Guimaras island. If you're coming from Manila, then you can take a direct flight to Iloilo and then to Guimaras. There, they celebrate the Manggahan Festival during the month of May and they have arguably the best mangoes in the whole world. They have a stall in the festival where you can eat all the mangoes you want within 30 minutes, for only 100 pesos, approximately 2 USD (!!!) I hope you keep enjoying the Philippines! Peace!✌

Most of the foreigners love the Philippines islands and beaches and we are so proud of it that they love our country. But the sad thing I noticed is that every time they ride the local transpo like tricycle they ask for too much and so expensive fare.Imagine Tater is just goin somewhere like not even 10 mins ride the driver charge him P 250.00.Please don’t take advantage of foreigners, what about if the locals were the one who ride you are not goin to charge them that amount.Shame on you guys even in El Nido or Siargao the tricycle charges too much.I hope that the city gov’t will be strict or do something on this matter. How can we encourage the foreign vloggers and visitors to go to our beautiful islands in the country. So discouraging really.Huwag kayong mandugas grabe kayo kakahiya talaga.
