@@henry6354 I'd rate this western the best overall very close or even tied with "The Outlaw Jose Wales"..with both the cinematography, the setting for the period, clothing, guns used, and overall story line are part of what makes both classics. Edda /Del'Orso was the leading operatic sopranino in Italy at that time and she was picked for her sound. I know it's written as a Hum version, but in the movie it's more operatic and that sort of singing is often referred to as "voiceless lyrics" or "over toning" The lyrical version wasn't sung during the movie, but Dulce Pontes sings it best of all that have tried it. The operatic version is sung extremely well by Patricia Janeckova one of the present-day Wolds best soprano. If you haven't heard her version, give it a listen..This was also the first movie where the music was written before the movie from the script and was actually played on the set as the scenes progressed.

This is one of the best and most realistic westerns of all time. I remember seeing it with my father when it first came out. Just look at the stars in it! Then you add in the music.....oh that haunting music. Ennio is simply a genius. The main theme Your Love is pure magic. I get chills everytime I hear it no matter who sings it. And then the harmonica solo! Wow. Remember he did other Westerns like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. What a pure talent. But this is by far my favorite. If you haven't seen the movie you need to and see how this music tells the story.

Este tema me toca el alma, la escucho todos los días pues me permite aprecial y valorar de la vida, tal vez Ennio Moriconi sentía lo mismo que yo y la adapto a la película ya que si la aprecian la vida en ese tiempo en esa época del oeste reflejaba un gran esfuerzo por sobrevivir al grado de que ya ni le lloraban a sus muertos pues solucionar con la muerte los conflictos era natural, y solo quedaba aguantar el dolor y la tristeza, pero la vida tenia que seguir, a pesar del dolor. no me deprime mas bien me motiva a seguir adelante y esforzarme por lo que quiero, pues gracias a dios la vida hoy no es así. solo tenemos que trabajar y hecharle inteligencia para salir adelante y no tenerle miedo a los retos, hay muchas oportunidades para todos, solo hay tomar la decisión, también falta que nuestros gobiernos y ricos entiendan que aun hay muchas cosas buenas que podemos hacer para que la vida sea cada vez mejor.

That scene where Jason Robards just stands there and look at the kid, prolly reflecting on his own childhood at the time and then coming back to reality....in the meantime the kid realizes and accepts his destiny and doesnt care about life at the moment as he just wants to be with his family. Ennio Moricone is a master piece Composer -- the music is stunning it speaks for itself .. great acting and tempo meshed in the music -- sad story line during the Wild West days, lawless times inspired this movie -- evolutions growth was daunting and continues --
