I'm so glad Quentin Tarantino used these musical pieces in Kill Bill. It's just a reminder for those who have experienced it before from previous western movies and an introduction to those who have not heard it before. This is how you keep music this great alive.
@kextrz Жыл бұрын
I so agree with you. Even though the piece is shortened a bit for editing purpose in Kill Bill, weren't it for QT, I probably never would've had the chance to listen to this masterpiece. Ennio Morricone is the greatest.
@TheFibtasticАй бұрын
What I love about this song in particular is that its from the soundtrack to one of the worst westerns ever made, Navajo Joe. The soundtrack, however, is phenomenal. I have it on LP, had to track it down on ebay. I would say more than any soundtrack, this influenced the feel of Kill Bill vol 2. Morricone brought his best no matter the film- and Tarantino gave this wonderful music its rightful place. It means so much more here.

When I watched Kill Bill for the first time the other day, I literally started shedding tears at 2:55 because this song makes Bill's death seem noble and inspiring. How he can just calmly walk into his destiny, entirely straight-faced, after everything that's happened....it's just emotionally overwhelming.

hahaha you know what's funny? Earlier this summer I watched "Navajo Joe" (starring Burt Reynolds) and then I watched Kill Bill, and QT nicked the song from Sergio Corbucci's 1966 spaghetti western of the same name.
