What is the length of the center pole?

Is the ridge pole somehow secured or is it just hanging from the loop(s )? I've scrolled back and forth several times now and cannot see how it's done, so to me it appears like it may fall down anytime. (I'm sure it won't if it's assembled the right way, though.)

How about tarps? A stand is nice, but I do like to sleep in my hammock. Rain, wind and tidal wave. If it's too short for a tarp, this is a no go for me.

Start pop a 12 foot tarp over the top and guy it out with some MSR groins hogs ( the same type used with this system) and bobs your uncle. Plus you can get cheap tarps at any hard ware store or get a actually backpacking tarp.

Will this work with 9 1/2' long hammock? I see it's somewhat adjust for the carabiners, but the ridge pole is not.

As far as I can figure out the stand is made for the ENO Hammocks and ones of similar size according to the dimensions of it. Note the ridge pole length ......(LxWxH) 13’9” x 4’2” x 4’8”, Ridgepole Length 9,10"
