Went in hospital for fix a hernia. When they opened him up he actually had 5 of them! They fixed all 5. Be safe and at least wear one of those hernia belts.

That thing that was hinged/bendable was small magnet on a handle that extended to reach like down a grate in the street or behind the couch, etc... The handle expands and collapses into itself.

That skinny bendy thing at the beginning may have been a telescoping tool with a wee magnet on the end to retrieve screws and small tools dropped into the engine when working on a vehicle, etc.
