I’m from America. I visit different parts of Africa four times. Each time I came back to the US I cried because I wanted to stay in Africa always. I too seen the videos they put out there talking against Africa, but I don’t pay them no mind. I know where I want to be and it’s in Africa on the mother land. One love for those who want it. ❤❤❤

I am a Jamaican and I absolutely love Ghana. Yes, there are definitely power interruptions and internet challenges. This we know. It doesn't make me love Ghana any less. If you move to a location and it doesn't work for you- simply move on. No need to make negative content.

I spent 6 week's in my home in Asebu, I had solar light, and I had a borehole for water. I had Internet the whole 6 weeks. It was the best experience living in the village and to me that was living the life, no worries of light or water going off, and able to eat real food.

I have noticed a trend amongst some of the Diasporas who arrive to Ghana broke as hell they don't get exactly what they're looking for and have to run back to America and they blame it on Ghana. When the Ghanaians don't bow down and wash their feet, they blame it on Ghana. These people are traumatized and they need to take a look in the mirror. I know exactly who you are speaking of without calling any names. She and I knew each other while she was in Ghana. Don't mind her, she is a shallow self absorbed person who only has allegiance to her self. Don't let her change who you are. Keep fighting for Ghana. I stand with you my brother. I'm happy in Ghana and won't ever leave. You have to come to Ghana with the right mindset, a compassionate heart and a good network of people to help you navigate the system. It ain't easy but worth your peace of mind.

I was in Ghana for 3 months with my children and the scamming is real. I was even scammed in the grocery store called ShopRite by workers. I made a food order and the guy said the mobile pay machine doesn’t currently work. He said send the money to his mobile pay and he will give it to store. I asked him, is he sure? He said, yes. I could hear him and his co workers cheering on and they were watching and laughing at their successful scam. I went back a second time and the guy was smiling, ready for a second scam but this time I told him I have cash. He said give it to him and will go pay the food order. But remember i’m not even at the cash register when he said i should pay him and he will pay for me so I said No. I went to the register and ask for the receipt and the two ladies were ready to get free money. They smiled and said, cash and i said, no credit. They weren’t smiling anymore since the card machine work. But I was smiling and never bought from the food court again. This is the first I’ve said something about it. There’s more but it’s really a learning experience. It makes me smarter. Also, im Haitian and these people didn’t understand. Im quick to detect things like this

I dont think so, there is nothing wrong with constructive and productive criticism especially if you are actually living there permanently and are contributing to society. However they only make such videos when they come to Africa on a whim, always complaining about the problems and when they leave and go back to their own country they act like there are no problems, issues or bad experiences happening in their country that they are facing. I quite remember some weeks ago I read a very horrible story on a blog. The writer was advising those coming to Ghana not to interact with those who sell around the castle. I was so hurt. Her reason is their artefacts are expensive and all that. I was at Elmina to shoot yesterday and I was surprised these ladies are selling their stuff for as low as 5 cedis. They are just trying to make ends meet. I've even made a video on it. Her write-up was so sad

Let's face it. Land, which the racist west has deprived them of, is the only draw for a lot of these guys. I agree with you 100%. Nobody is forcing them to stay and so we are not interested in knowing why they left. Ghana or Africa is not for everyone. Do not come to Africa with the intention to stay. Visit and go back to your country. Africa is not for the faint hearted. In investment it is said, the higher the risk the higher the returns. It means you can loose your investment but when you hit, you hit big. That is why the Chinese and Europeans who understand the terrain never leave Africa.

I'm building a house and hope all my children will follow me home to Africa. I hate seeing ppl make videos where they are complaining because they didn't plan for things they knew could happen. I am planning for dumsor. I have it in my budget to get a borehole and solar. Problem solved. Ppl need to come with an open-mind and strategy if they plan to move or visit. I am A.A. and I want to return to my ancestors lands because we are a stolen people who are just realizing we can go home! America is not built for us it was just built by us with the use of whips and chains. But some ppl will want to stay in America and they should. However that’s one individual making such remarks, the diaspora in the Caribbean on a whole loves Ghana, loves Africa. Believe it or not I had to pull up a young African brother born in Africa living in the USA referring to countries in Africa as shit hole countries and saying sometimes he’s ashamed to identify as African. I heard from somewhere that if you don't fix yourself where you are, you can not resolve your issue anywhere, like moving to a new place, won't necessarily resolve internal struggles or life challenges. It's about recognizing that personal problems, habits, or unresolved conflicts will follow you no matter where you go. Real change starts within, and finding peace or "paradise" is more about addressing internal issues than relying on external circumstances. It's like the idea that "wherever you go, there you are.

@mightyman6866 I agree again. I watch a lot of these videos. They are both inspiring and sad. Have you not seen all those videos with Americans bad mouthing america. I can name quite a few. I am a jamaican living in America, and from what I am seeing, many of the countries in Africa are just like jamaica. The good is how people know each other and will help each other and the bad is as a jamaican living in America they think you soooo much money. They want and want and want. The main difference is that Ghana is less violent than jamaica. I would not complain because I come from a similar environment. Many Americans will not find living in Africa easy. They don't understand the dynamics of the community. It's almost as if they need a guide. They have to try to understand and connect with the people to feel good about being there.

Ekow please understand that these kind of negative comments will definitely come. Unfortunately when some people are not happy with a place, they make it appear that it's a no go area. The same way some people have also used the KZbin to send a positive image about Ghana and has become a tourist destination, you should expect others to have a negative experience. Unfortunately nowadays it's so easy to put things out there that are not completely true but an individual opinion especially when things don't work out the way they want. Some of my friends I travelled abroad with, had returned to Ghana because they didn't like it but none had taken to KZbin to bad mouth the country. This behaviour are mainly done by some African Americans and I see it as cultural thing as a result, there's no need to take it personal.

I thought you had relocated.😂 I think it's ill advised to get worked up over other's social media criticisms of Ghana. "Who asked you to come?" Well Ekow....you did and Wode Maya and your President and many others who championed repatriation for the last four years. The truth is Ghana wasn't ready to receive people. It's very evident no NO planning or thought was done by Ghana leaders on how to prepare it's citizens & communities on how to receive and work with diasporans.Fof example, over course of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pres. Biden, his administration, the press, business leaders, faith leaders, social leaders have all coached the American people into supporting and accepting the Ukrainians. EVERY institution in America has primed it's people to be welcoming, understanding and patient. Ghana didn't do that. It was a missed opportunity on the part of your leaders to truly capitalize on the enthusiasm of diasporans including the Ghanaians living in the West who wanted to repatriate. And that lack of leadership frankly has shown that Ghana's leadership class truly isn't welcoming to repatriation. The leaders of Ghana have left the heavy lifting to social media influencers like you to try and help navigate this rocky terrain, instead of leading the way themselves in policy, attitude and actions. People like Ekow are bearing the brunt of diasporans frustrations and that's not right or fair to them. That's the part I feel badly about. The truth of the matter is, it WAS and remains Ghanaians (leadership & peoples) responsibility to have been prepared because it was Ghana whom extended the invitation. But also because of karma. The Asante, Fante, Ewe, and Ga do owe a karmic debt to the people whose ancestors they kidnapped, raped, murdered, sold and betrayed. They also owe debt to their neighbors in Ghana to repair the fractured relationships slave trade and colonialism brought to their lands. In the same way that Germany had to repent and make repair, so do Ghanaians. Ghana would have done better to fix internal issues, to truly build unity and a mutual sense of purpose with its native tribes before embarking on such a huge endeavor of inviting diasporans. In this way you would have a blueprint of how to navigate such integration. Ghana has so much promise, it truly does, but Ghana has much work to do on it building up a culture of integrity and accountability. I've said before, I believe @Ekow Simpson to be a genuine person, a man of integrity who has a love for people. He will be blessed for his efforts.
