Great video John easy to follow and have got my first Linux intune machine on my tenant. This for anyone having issues when running the command on the terminal I had to copy it couple of times until it allowed me to install company portal so make sure you run the terminal commands correctly .

Thanks a lot and yeah Linux terminal is not so forgiving if something is typed or copied wrong :) - good advice if seeing issues

Thanks for your great video. I'm considering how Intune apply security patches for Linux enrolled devices like Windows Patch Tuesday.
@IntuneVitaDoctrinaАй бұрын
Thanks a lot for your comment, I'm a bit disappointed in Intune's current Linux support, not much you can do. To run a similar as Windows Patch Tuesday, I would in Intune run a Script for all Linux devices, maybe two or more scripts for Ring 0/Ring1/Ring2 and so on, and have the script running a cron job running updates on the devices, such as: #!/bin/bash # JBN update all packages sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y then call it with cron each Tuesday something like this #!/bin/bash # Path to the update script JBN_SCRIPT_PATH="/path/to/jbn_update_script.sh" # Create a cron job to run the update script every Tuesday at 2 AM (crontab -l 2>/dev/null; echo "0 2 * * 2 $JBN_SCRIPT_PATH") | crontab -

Great video. Thank you. Whats the specs on your computer that runs your vm's? I'm trying to spec something out for lab setups in the future.

thanks a lot, I'm using a Dell Inc. Precision 5560 to run the VMs, it works pretty good.

@@IntuneVitaDoctrina what's the processor and memory on it?
@IntuneVitaDoctrina Жыл бұрын
It got 32GB of RAM, but I still have to shut down software before to start VMs since Chrome/Outlook often take 4GB each with all tabs in the browser and other software :) CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i7 2.5GHz 8 cores 16 logical processors. Think mine is about 2 years old now, performance is still good, battery life without charger in is pretty horrible, it last about 1 hour LOL :)

I was faced with a linux box the other day, I told him to create a windows vm cause I was unsure of this enrollment, now im going to go back and see if my user would rather use his local host linux instead....BOOM Thank you.

Cool! remember it must be Ubuntu and later version of Linux and at current date you cannot do so much with Intune on Linux devices but Microsoft will expand to more Linux distributions and more features, I hope they add some MDM policies and ways to push packages would be cool

@@IntuneVitaDoctrina Thank you, Yeah I figured it would have to be relatively new. I did have success with it. Hey John, Sorry to throw random things in here as I wish there was a way to contact you about Ideas. I was faced with importing some firewall rules that I was picking and choosing to import through Intune. There is a cool tool for it called Endpoint security firewall rule migration tool for microsoft intune. Would NOT mind seeing a video pop up on that!!

after MFA prompt my intune crashed and now whenever i try to register the app just crashes. What am I missing here?
@IntuneVitaDoctrina Жыл бұрын
Hi Von Valdez, what MFA are you using? I got first hand experience that Okta MFA doesn't work at the moment, got a Support Ticket with Microsoft about that. If you use the AzureAD/MFA from Microsoft it works for sure (that is what I used for my videos).
@vonvaldez4194 Жыл бұрын
@@IntuneVitaDoctrina Microsoft, same as your example. It takes my credentials and intune loads and just crashes
@vonvaldez4194 Жыл бұрын
@@IntuneVitaDoctrina then i keep trying entering the same creds, this time no MFA prompts since its recognizing my acc. then there a pop-up saying microsoft is ready . then intune loads and crashes at the same spot

tricky this should work, have you restarted the Linux device one time? it is Ubuntu and supported version? ran all the updates of the system?

@@IntuneVitaDoctrina multiple times i've restarted same issue. yea version 22.04 and updated from all the prompts and even reran then updates. its odd for sure

Did you download the .deb file here www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/download?form=MA13FJ ? (not RPM) then you run it. There are other ways, this page explains different ways, one even use terminal only, hope that helps www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2021/01/how-to-install-edge-on-ubuntu-linux
