With Palworld and Enshrouded releasing this month, we're truly blessed with some fantastic games and with Nightingale releasing at the end of Februrary, we only have more to come! I will probably turn this into a "100 Days In Enshrouded..." type video. Enshrouded is dope. Definitely recommend for those that like survival games/exploring. Having it be ... not procedural also makes finding hidden things feel a lilttle bit more special. I do find it to be a bit easy so far but have greatly enjoyed pushing out farther than our level (i.e. lvl 7 fighting lvl 15 felt more appropriate) but nothing wrong with smashing through some normal mobs :D Only lvl 8 and already worth the buy

Not trying to tell that Enshrouded will always be superior or Nightingale doesn't have potential...but I bought both games on release. I stopped playing Nightingale after a couple of hours, because I feel it's totally unpolished and it could ruin my whole expectations long-term if I keep playing in the current state. I spent 120+ hours in Enshrouded, except the combat (and maybe some even disagree, and I also think it will be improved and get way superior) EVERYTHING felt better or improved compared to Valheim, which was my top game of 2022 (still hopping in on new biome releases, doing everything all over again). The only "downside" was the nonprocedural world which limits replayability... but I consider it the best feature, since it makes exploration and questing immersive and adds a lot of quality over quantity. With an instance-based procedural dungeon system the end game could last longer, could add a lot of replayability to the game, but that hand-crafted world should never be put aside, it is beautiful as it is, even if it's still under development.@@Joltiwolfe

As far as time goes id say it would range 80-120 hrs of straight play through of nonstop progression. A lot of materials needed for the flame alter upgrades will take a little farming time. That said there is a lot to explore which is really nice having so many unique locations to look into. I do wish inventory management was a little cleaner, hope mobs will invade ur base one day, more unique gear drops cause ive gotten 4 legendary rings of the same type from chests. Id like more mini bosses or mobs roaming the open world. A lot of open space of nothing to interact with.

I went in expecting not much and hoping to get a little kick out of yet another survival game since Ark/Valheim. Oh boy was I impressed. The team has played survival games and worked out creative fixes and designs to combat a lot of issues that the genre has been having. Personally I like a more hardcore game but god damn is this fun with friends. The world is massive and the hybrid/action-focused combat is better than anything I've seen (cough New World cough) Can't wait to see where this goes, or anything more that these devs cook up in the future.

My complaint is that every review, whether in tone or content, feels like a review based on Ashes. It's difficult to describe, but this game is so different, and so if you want to expand your viewer base, then I think a different tone/strategy would really matter. If you just want to retain the Ashes base, then keep at it haus. Love the content myself, keep it up. But as usual, I am just one nerd, desperate for attention from a content creator.

@mattfletcher22709 ай бұрын
Personally I wouldn't hold off for that reason as there's lots of content here already. But I guess it also depends how you play. If you just hit quests non stop one after the other of course you will reach the current end sooner, but I don't know how long that would take tbh. I've played non stop outside of work since release & have 36 hours played & it still feels like there's lots to do. I spent a good 4 hours building my starter base & I've found a very good location for my next main base which is going to be floating above a very high tower! 😁 Lots of farming, prepping & god knows how long it'll take to build but I'm pumped about this little project. When I'm done with that I'll get back to some questing but I'll do it 50/50 quests & exploring as I go. I'm not in a race to the end, I'll be smelling half of the roses as I go. If you've only played 90 minutes I'm not sure how you can gage the amount of content this game has but I'm sure you haven't even begun to scratch the surface. Either way, it's definitely worth the price as is & you will have lots to do whenever you do decide jump in. 👍

My negatives about Enshrouded: - Water where? - Round/diagonal building where? - Numbered withdrawal/deposit where? - Content/items is level/quest gated... - Beautiful world but handcrafted so low replay value? - Quests will be the same every playthrough, again replay value? Great one time play but it's mostly gonna die after people complete it. There is no point making a new world just to do the same quests over 💀 Game sorely needs more content or randomly generated quests/content.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with you. I like being curmudgeonly and this game is not giving me much to gripe about. The issues that stand out are so minor and the overall quality of the game so far tells me that the devs have a handle on things and know what to prioritize. For me it's a single player pause button, and the skybox/ sun not being quite smooth. And of course the difficulty modding original source code. Every game is better with mods, so I hope they add mod support sooner than later. But the environment is rich and immersive, the balance of combat, riddles, puzzles and exploration is excellent, Basebuilding is fun, the variety of armor and skills lets you really build your toon to your play preferences... all this and I'm still only level 6 and haven't left the starting biome. Today I hope to reach the fast travel tower in Revelwood. #lifegoals

Thanks for the review. I'm currently playing this game too and have already 16 hours in it. But I'm not rly far into the game to be honest. I enjoy wasting time building cool structures way too much to get proper progression in the game... :'D By the way, does the combat get more challenging eventually? I think the combat system is nice, maybe a bit whacky in some cases, but in general it's pretty good. But the enemies are way too weak and too passive. There's no challenge in the fights and I'm already at lvl5, so I consider this to be long after tutorial time. I think the game needs harder hitting mobs way earlier in the game. Or more settings to customize the server, so I can make it harder for myself, the ways I want it to be harder.

I just had to play somewhat patient and careful. I think it would do Enshrouded good, if it had some server settings to define difficulty. Luckily the exploration part of this game is so good, I don't even mind too much about the lacking challenge/ absence of any danger in combat. Makes the adventure a lot more chill and I can focus on just exploring. But I think Valheim handles difficulty way better.

The combat system feels kinda underwhelming, also shield stunning is very "bugged" and you have to counter attacks right when they're launched/started (stunning them out of nowhere) Mage is pretty good because it's strong, but if you have to throw a lot of spells to kill just one enemy, it's pretty boring Wands are kinda strong but not really interesting Bow is extremely underwhelming One handed weapons are ok And double handed is just a pain in the ass But overall the combat needs more than one combo because at some point it's not very interesting when you have to spam attacks to the same enemy with the same combo over and over The building system is chief's kiss tho and I love how easy you can dig out the terrain. Though I'd like it even more if it wasn't as expensive to build stuff or if gathering materials was a bit faster

"Polished" is a pretty generous word for combat. two-handers feel terrible unless your spamming jump attack, which doesn't hit flying enemies despite looking like it should. most Fell enemies don't pose any challenge because there not aggressive and there attacks don't track player movement. and just a lot of other fundamental issues.

The game is pretty solid, but there's something strange about it. It's clearly designed to be an online experience. You are, by default, directed to play in your world online. You can see other players mining and building reticles. However... at the same time, there are ZERO social features. No emoting, no voice chat. You can't send any messages at all. Most of the time, players who show up to your online world either vandalize your base, steal your resources, or rarely gift you inventories full of clearly duped items. What gives? Why are we being directed to play with other players online, yet are at the same time limited from interacting with those same players?
