I honestly used to avoid any games in this genre that weren't procedurally generated, but then I played games like No Mans Sky and Starfield and Valheim and just felt like the world's were empty. Even though there was stuff to explore, it got old pretty fast. I really almost passed up on Enshrouded, but this graphical style is my favorite so I gave it a shot. I bought the game, played through the tutorial area before leaving the meadows. Built my first little starter home, then bought the game for my girlfriend to play with me. We put 20 hours in the first 2 days. I can't stop playing. Following roads and exploring the world that feels like it was lived in/is occupied by living stuff is great. Coming across stuff for lore, and old abandoned places to search, you can really start to craft conclusions in your mind for a particular area. Enshrouded has changed my mind and rethink my decision about only playing procedurally generated survival/crafting games. Its been a long time since I wanted to call off work/skip school to play a game. I'm only 31 but haven't been this invested in a game since Skyrim, which funnily enough was the last hand crafted open world game I played.

Getting my money back from Palworld and spending it on this game was the best thing I've done all year! Palworld isn't bad, but this game is way more original and fun. After playing for over 40 hours, I can say the sound and building mechanics are amazing! It's definitely my pick for game of the year. I'm having a blast with it, there's just so much to do!

This game have sooo HUGE potential They can expand game terittories and expand building options and story. One thing that can be better is npc's and life of world. Feeling that this is more MMORPG without dub. It can be nice to see more npc's like travelling and some cities.

The building in Enshrouded is amazing! I do wish some changes were made such as a Build Mode Camera because sometimes the Angles are a nightmare and some other Quality of Life changes such as that would be nice but overall the Building in Enshrouded is amazing. I have 316.4 Hours put into Enshrouded. A good portion of that is in Building. I cannot wait for more Materials, More Voxel Types such as different Shaped Items and I am hoping for a lot more Clutter/Detailing Items such as placeable Foods, Armors, Weapons etc etc. Stuff to help add more life and personality to Builds. Also eventually being able to place Water is going to be an AMAZING Addition when it releases! So many ideas spiraling around in my head right now just thinking about it. Also I would LOVE to see some Automation or something. Even something like "Redstone" or something similar to that would be EPIC! Buttons, Levers and Pressure Plates etc etc would be so cool to have and play with! Maybe even being able to make an Elevator or Trap Doors or maybe eventually Turret Systems would be cool. Anyways enough rambling with ideas and my personal wish list of features lol

I like the handcrafted world, but I've found a few "two" story houses without stairs. I'll go through the roof and the 2nd floor is completely empty. You can tell the houses or dungeons were created as assets and copy pasted and then modified slightly.

Correct. A lot of games do this so they can make larger maps with less work. Certain points of interest are hand crafted

Amazing world, art and design, and I love the building system, however the difficulty setting are a must, game is too easy, enemies are not challenging, even the bosses except the one at the Capitol. Enemies are just kind of weak for all levels, maybe except lvl 30 at the endgame. I would love to make them more dangerous so you have to support eachother in coop in order to win the fight, and pay attention to what gear you are wearing as well as take some time to craft the better equipment not only for the looks but as a necessity.

No one says handcrafted is bad. The problem is it takes A LONG TIME to make vs procedural which is faster. So after a week or say a month. Ppl have seen everything. It's a fine line between empty and naked some procedural makes vs super detailed environments that most players will run past or blow up with a 2nd pass lol. It's always nice to see hand crafted with procedural

No, everyone's world will be the same. The developers have the choice for auto generate or hand made. They did both, kind of.

Yeah you can feel the uniqueness in buildings and "man"made stuff in the game. Only the terrain is repetitive as it feels the same almost everywhere. Traversing higher distances was not fun so far, even with the existence of the glider :l what I mean is every biome is more or less hill out of round shapes in a different color. Some with more, some with less Vegetation. They are not different enough from each other
