Another mind-blowing track from Enslaved where the song, lyrics and even the album art form a dimension for the listener

3:00 to 6:25 is transcendental, and the guitar solo is so beautiful and emotional to me. I adore this song.

Good fucking god....every time I think I've heard all the good Enslaved songs...something pops up and blows me the fuck away.

From 3:00 - 6:25 I'm hearing shades of Deftones, Isis, Explosions in the Sky. I'm hearing Devin Townsend in that glorious solo and Oceansize and Hopesfall immediately after the solo. Yet Enslaved make it sound undeniably Enslaved.

Haha, I scrolled specifically to find "Devin Townsend" in a comment. It is indeed there!

Musical taste has always been subjective...what pleases the ear, pleases the ear. However, to even for one moment consider this to be lousy is absurd. The range of emotion in these songs, on the entirety of this album, is staggering. They are captivating soundscapes which draw you in one moment and then repel you the next. There are few bands capable of straddling the line of both aggressive and sublime, yet Enslaved have proven time and again they are the torch bearers of this medium. (Pantopicon almost parallels it, but I digress.)

I've been recently going through the entire catalogue of Enslaved and it's quite hard for me to like most of it. But this album, THIS album was a ride from start to finish

When I was younger I hated progressive metal. Now it is the only thing I listen to. This band is unreal.

I hate the type of progressive music that just fools around with time signatures and fast guitar picking etc. but this kind of atmospheric and vivid flow is my shit. The songs have many layers that keep them fresh and interesting but also make me FEEL every part

The slow portion of the song sounds a lot like Devin Townsend. And that's a good thing.

Got a kind of post-rock Shoegaze sound. Sounds like Deftones mixed with Explosions in the Sky and Hopesfall.
