I've always favored this movement as deeply rhythmic and sensual in atmosphere. It is the first thing that pops into my mind when it comes to a French String Quartet.

I heard this for the first time in kindergarten. Just a clip. Instant love. I had the music teacher write down the song and composer. My mom bought me the album that day. I’ve known this song quite longer than I’d like to admit. But this version is one of the best ever! ❤❤ Never realized how hard the first violinist and violist have to work in this piece! Just Incredible. And of course the constant switching from bowing to pizzicato is amazing!

Wow! The colours that they were able to bring out were amazing! My only question is: would those same colours be able to be portrayed in a live performance? Because you can tweak anything in a studio recording. Lovely playing either way.

often for classical music it sounds A LOT better live, because there's a lot of stuff you cannot capture in recordings, so I'd expect yes :D
