Wing and Fire Wheels are a weapon mainly associated with Bagua Zhang and TaijiQuan but you will see them. Used at the Shaolin Temple too. Usually someone practicing a Tai Chi form or Bagua forms. They are used for jabbing, slashing, striking, parrying, hooking and disarming opponents. Designs of these vary massively, some people say there are up to 400 different varieties. The main structure is a metal ring with a grip on. Some have nothing, some have metal flames coming out of them and these one’s for sale at Enso Martial Arts Shop have single flames type spikes. Where the grip is has a semi circle guard to protect the hand.

The wind and fire wheels are based on a taoistic religion where the demigod Ne Zha was given these wheels by the Immortal Zhenren not only does the "marshall of the central altar" use them as intended as an addition to his main weapon which is his spear, they are also used as a method of transportation for the boy of the lotus.

Hi I train in Choy Li Fut and two of the videos are from my school lineage...not sure the military background, but you need to look at the fantasy Chinese hero named Na Zha......he was gifted with wind and fire wheels footing feet. Think of a footing with circular flames lit up while floating in air....I do practice this unique weapon.....speculation is correct about how we use this in application....it is vicious and good wrist workout!!! Thanks for vid!!!

Yeah they look really similar. Someone once was telling me there was a direct link but I don't know much about that. You can see an obvious possible evolution though
