As stick umbrellas are used quite commonly in the UK, it'd make sense to dress such a cane with a frame and canopy to make it even less conspicuous, and more useful.

No matter what martial arts 'stick' you use, training is mandatory. A lightweight rattan cane has better striking speed than an oak or hickory cane, but lacks the impact capacity of the harder, heavier woods.

I don't understand, you claim to be a MA instructor, but when elderly gents call about a cane, you try to dissuade them? "...that's a really bad reason to buy a weapon..." WHAT?? Self-defense is a bad reason to buy a weapon?? Goodbye.

If you are carrying a weapon you are more likely to use it than not. we sell martial arts weapons for training in martial arts, not to be out looking for trouble. Hopefully that has helped you understand David.
