This act of Terrorism happed because the Estonian President Pats Cowardly and Treasonous actions allowed it to be. The Estonian Army should have fought against the Soviet Army Invaiders. There is NO EXCUSE That the Estonian Army did not fight!

Kõneleja peaks olema Varese valitsuse põllumajandusminister Aleksander Jõeäär. Hiljem oli ta veel ENSV kohtuminister. 1950. aastal aga represseeriti ja saadeti Siberisse vangilaagrisse. Vabanes 1956.

I am Catalan and I understand what the Estonians feel, I don't deny any occupation, etc, however the point is that the SOVIET REGIME did that, not the RUSSIANS, had the February revolution won, the Russian Empire, except its polish part will have keeped together and be a multilingual, multinational country like Switzerland or Belgium and we will be not talking about that. However, after all that, by circumstances, Estonia choosed independence and I respect the will of the people, though I will like the Russian Empire with last pre-revolutionary borders (without poland) to be reborn, but that's more an ideal which will unlikely happen due to what the soviets did. Whoever which denies the occupation is a brainwashed, fanatic communist. I am a national conservative and parliamentary monarchist, and I support independence just because the same reason you guys did in 1918 and 1990, because it was impossible to dialogate with the soviets, as it is now with Spain, by the way, your Baltic Chain was a great Influence :D

Sir, Let me say this I am a man of peace. I wish you no harm. as a Police officer and soldier and Diplomat for both Estonia and America I have seen evil people are capable, of. If you or others even a nation allows itself to be taken over, you can expect to be Robbed ,Rapped and murdered etc. When I was in the Eesti Kaitsevagi they told us in officer school that If Estonia had fought we would have lost lesser people. Many Estonians were violated, Raped murdered, by just giving up.

@MrKaido93 Well, I'd say that it was an authoritarian dictatorship 1934-1938 and a semi-authoritarian regime 1938-1940. How exactly you can call their actions in 1940 treason is hard to understand. A country of 1 million fighting a country of over 100 million is idiotic, at least in these conditions. The 1918 war was in our advantage, we had support from the west and Russia was weak - in 1940, there could have been no chances of winning or even stopping the atrocities committed by the USSR.

@MrKaido93 Your kind of people will never understand that wars are not meant to be fought when there is no chance of winning. Of course every state has to protect its citizens, but let's be realistic - had the state protected its citizens by use of local troops (not active by the time anyway), it would have triggered to a war. And what is more important for the nation - to preserve itself, or to keep some of its citizens safe. In case of the latter, many more repressions would have followed.

@MrKaido93 Netherlands have a population ca. 9 times bigger than Estonia. They had all the international support and they fought against a smaller enemy. And they lost - pathetically. But there is a difference - Germans didn't massively deport them. Russians did deport Estonians however. Take Finland, they had a bigger population, had much better geographical position. Say we have a slave mentality, but in the end we got our independence back.

@MrKaido93 You can not seriously think that Estonia had any chance against the USSR. There was nothing that Päts or Laidoner could have done - true, they could have done a little less in signing the documents during the early occupation, but we have yet no idea under what pressure they were. Shame on you for seeing our history so black and white. Sometimes war isn't the best defense, war would could have destroyed the country, only to be lost and to be followed by two other wars in 1941 and 1944

@MrKaido93 Well, I thought you'd say so. People thinking war is the only option often get killed first. But I fail to understand why you are mad at all Estonians for my views? There are plenty of war-liking Estonians among my friends. I am just the one who thinks that it's better to be occupied and left alive (and fight with other methods) to be killed in a short war. And once you or a nation is killed/destroyed, it could never be brought back. To an occupation however, could be put an end.

@MrKaido93 Choosing your way, we would have lost propably tens of thousands of men in war, had thousands of women raped, tens of thousands more deported and in the end, we would have not even been a "voluntary member to the USSR", but a simple occupied territory with fascist people, even in later Soviet propaganda. And since there would be so much room, they would have brought more russians. You are from America, have you got any clue what the situation really is - how small the population is?
