How lucky new generation girls in Kerala. Mothers will do everything for them. When we were young, even if there were many people in our house to help inside and outside to help still my mother used to yell at me in the morning to clean the bed, rake the muttam, sweep the bedroom, etc. I am also the only daughter of my mother. After my professional degree, we migrated to North America in 2000. Still, if I go to Kerala my mother never lets me sit idly. My strict father never let me go anywhere alone. Even If I am Kerala I am scared to catch an autorickshaw to go anywhere always accompanied by somebody. As working mothers we don't have any rest, morning taking till evening. No servant nothing all we have to manage ourselves. I was thinking how lucky girls in Kerala are, Mothers are pampering girls like anything. Even when I watch Deepthi's videos of Sulamma doing all the kitchen work I feel so sad.
