The package you are retrieving in the opening level is the one sent by the crew of the first story in Animatrix. This triggers the meeting in the beggining of Matrix Reloaded. This was when the crossmedia thing was in full swing

At first the running seemed boring but then I realised, its an almost literal definition of a speed run! Straight up running and driving like Statham in Crank, I really enjoyed it. I liked the part when they Itadori'd down the stairs at 11:32
