I've been considering becoming a Mason off and on for years. I'm grateful that so much research material is being made readily available by actual masons nowadays, since much of what was previously available was predominantly put out by outsiders. I am not the type of person who wants to get ibvolved with such things without informing myself first. Besides, even if I don't become a Mason myself, I still find that a study of freemasonic history and philosophy can still benefit my overall understanding of myself and the world around me

And Dim, it's a good thing our founding fathers, most of whom were masons, created this new order of government we call America, as opposed to the worlds monarchies and dictatorships, or you wouldn't have the right or freedom to slander the way you currently are. The freedoms masons have created for you to speak the way you are, you are now using that freedom to slander them. If you didn't have this freedom and lived in the old worlds order of monarchies, you would probably have received the death penalty for slander.

I am an African-American male, 32 years of age, married, 2 kids, interested in Masonry, living is Virginia. There is the thought that in South Eastern Virginia if I petitioned a "mainline" lodge, that would direct me towards a PHA Lodge. Thoughts?
@donaldmcandrews54597 жыл бұрын
That is a possibility, not entirely restricted to the Southwest. If you can tell me where you live, I may be able to suggest a nearby Lodge that would be a good fit.

Mind you, if the race divide is not something that has been conquered in my area by brotherly love, then however unfortunate I may think this to be, I want to go where I will be accepted for the kind of man I am and not the color of my skin. Also, this is not a troll post. I am in search of Masonic light sincerely. I just went on a tour of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania which was amazing and serves and the inspiration for my original question.

when you say "free from any felonies" is that specific to virginia? does that come from the virginia grand lodge or freemasonry as a whole? when i was a younger man, i made poor choices and ended up with a felony. i have since grown into adulthood, grown to understand my choices and why they were wrong & this day i couldn't be anymore of a different man, that boy is something that i have left in the past, i have grown to be a good man, father, and i have discovered the lords love & grace. this growth & desire to become better is the same growth that has led me to my interest in freemasonry. i want nothing more than to become a freemason. what steps can i take to achieve this?

Go to a lodge and ask for a petition. Only after you explain yourself and what you stand for , meet the lodge members and build a bond…. 9 times out of 10 , they will not accept your petition or payments if it’s already an absolute no. Good luck 👍🏾

The terms "lodge" and "free" are in opposition. When something is lodged, it's stuck, not free. Also the terms "obligations" and "free" are not in harmony. To be obligated is to have to do something, unable to refuse or decline.

Why are paraplegics not accepted???
@bighomiekountry32756 жыл бұрын
chaz gilbert I would think it would be hard to complete the initiation part and a paraplegic would find it difficult to do the work necessary to get through the degrees. It's not to discriminate but TRUST ME there are things it would be difficult to do from a chair. I would ask around if a person really has a desire to join and maybe a lodge would make adjustments to accommodate a paraplegic.
@texasfossilguy4 жыл бұрын

I want to join the fraternity. I heard about masonry through conspiracy vidéos, but i saw through the tin foil hat narrative and i saw a beautiful organization. I dont identify with any religion, but i do believe in god. I used to be a christian, but i walked away from that faith a number of years ago. I've let life experience become my scripture. What should I do to become a mason? Also, im part black. Will that hold be back in certain areas? Im asumming that it wont. But I heard that Albert Pike had resentment towards black people, and you see that in his writtings.
@donaldmcandrews54596 жыл бұрын
I encourage you to find a Lodge near where you live or work. If you have friends, relatives, or colleagues at work whom you know to be Masons, they can assist you. The process is to submit a petition which must be signed by two Masons in good standing who can vouch for your character. If you do not know any, then it would be necessary to get to know some at a nearby Lodge who, once they get to know you, would be willing to vouch for you. After the petition is presented, a committee will be assigned to investigate you, and depending on the jurisdiction, you may have to pay for a criminal background check. Once that is done, the Lodge will then vote on your petition. Things tend to move slowly and deliberately in Masonry, which is a good life lesson in itself.
@jonsmith22176 жыл бұрын
your dad my grandfather was a mason. Not such a fine man. What they do in the Masonic Lodge is break a man down prison style. As a new initiative you must masturbate in front of the whole Lodge. if it wasn't nothing to be ashamed of the doors wouldn't be locked and they wouldn't threaten to kill you if you ever expose the secrets of the lodge. They wouldn't do Secret satanic rituals. By the time a man is a 33 degree Mason he is bent over and got on his knees as a man he's a full secret closet homosexual. Look at the Shriners wearing wigs makeup nail polish riding around in little cars acting like gay goofballs. Even the Shriners admit their the party animals. You can KZbin Mason's Shriners pedophilia it's as bad as one can imagine. Satanism and homosexuality go hand-in-hand. The Masonic Lodge will never tell you this they have a dog in the fight they're trying to sell you Masonry. Masons are like used car salesmen they can not tell the truth. And you will pay Lodge dues as long as you're a nice person. you must have good credit to join. and by the time you're 33 degree Mason you will be paying a few thousand dollars a year. A lifetime of masonry you will have wasted several thousands of dollars and alot of time. do you really want to sell your soul to the devil?

@Speciality C. S. One of the qualities a Mason is expected to exhibit, is modesty. Perhaps you need to work on that. That said, you may be a fantastic person in all respects. Great. You should also realise that, yes, men can achieve their best without being Freemasons. However, some men prefer to go down the Fraternity route. We are all different, we are not robots! Some men thrive in an atmosphere of brotherhood and fraternity...they love to go about things in a "Masonic" manner. Men who are typical of this tend to have served in the armed forces, or the police force. Good luck in all you do.

@@TheRealist2022 My father was a rosacrucian very much into the sacred science as he called it, i read most of his books when i was a teenager without him knowing, those teachings change me a bit but i believe i was born a very strong minded person so i my quest for knowledge didn't stopped there i also read about other societies and that helped me become the person i am today. rosicrucians and freemasons are not the same but they are similar so i understand the concept very well. Why has Freemason not contributed to the development of Africa the same way they did in the western world.
@catman39536 жыл бұрын
Why have Africans, themselves, not contributed? People in the West have squabbled among themselves for centuries, yet have managed to put their squabbling aside in the interest of some greater endeavor.....I have noticed that many African leaders put themselves first and that many Africans seem to look to the West--too much. Then too, there is what is called African's greatest problem: Tribalism--which by the way has bedeviled Europe from time to time. (I"ve never spent time in Africa)
