This is one of the finest pieces of storytelling I've seen in a long time. This is a perfect example of why I'll always have a soft spot for this fandom! This is such a wonderfully happy, yet sad en emotional story. Mid Sodor has always been a truly wonderful little place, with so much undiscovered potential, and this proves my point! Awesome work Matt! Give Watson a hug from me, will you?

Why do I suddenly feel that this is going to have a sequel or even start a mini-series? Those Green fireflies. Green for Glory. And yet I'm sure Jay Gatsby felt like Atlas getting closer and closer with a reward at the end of that Green light at the end of Daisy's dock. The difference being Atlas was following a meaningful reason of Green light with no intent on happiness for purely himself. Gatsby' s Green light chasing was empty in truth.

I think this is what everyone in the world needed right now. With all the sick patients and frontline workers, this episode really embodies the power of the human spirit. It shows us to never give up hope, even in the darkest times, and always give it our all, no matter what we do. Well done, Matt! You continue to emotionally satisfy me, this fandom and the world around you!

That was a very Enterprising Engines story! Loved all the visuals and voice work, especially from you and Turtles of course. The Coldplay cover was very well placed and really added to the scene, and I love to see more of this intriguing 'afterlife' idea, really ties in the magical undertone of your series! Great work from everyone as always, can't wait to see what you do next!

Heh.. you know.. When I saw this was a story written by you, even then I had a gut feeling that I wasn't going to make it through this video dry-eyed. The heart of this story and the heart of this little engine is unparalleled, and something I bet we all sorely needed, in this time more than ever. I'm not ashamed to say I cried hardest of all at his line about the lights shining green? This feels like a callback to the fearlessness, the optimism, the magnetic spirit that first drew me to your series back in 2015. It is a tribute to the old, and a blend of the new, and a beautiful awakening towards the future. The skill and artistry in this video.. absolute magic, from the heartfelt voice acting to the stunning custom modelling and those blue skies above the railway lines. I feel like you just poured your heart into this and had fun with it and that is the most beautiful thing of all. We all feel like the weight of the world is on us from time to time, but this is a testament, a look at the THINGS we can achieve, the beauty, even in our final moments. We are more than the sum of our parts, whether those parts are metal or the building blocks of humanity. The future is gleaming, you know? Anyway, I wax on too long. Thank you for this. Thank you

Ahhh I love these Mid Sodor Stories. Tim and Atlas are both given so much good personality in both of these short little stories, and seeing the little connections to Proteus, and “Dead End” has built my intrigue a lot! Definitely gonna have to break out the Speculative Spectacles to look into why Atlas’ afterlife seems to be ongoing while Patriot’s is just a dead end. Very curious indeed... 4:05 So that’s why Bertram’s a tank engine now...

I felt like the episode ended very abruptly, but then that after credits scene, man. I really enjoyed this. I love seeing more focus being put on the Mid Sodor engines who never got their time to shine. I also really appreciate that you acknowledged Alfred, he always seems to get the short end the stick. And that shot of Proteus' statue, I love it but you are just taunting me with those wellwagons.

Marvelous work, dude! I like how you make a concrete end for Atlas who goes out on an exciting, but never the less depressing, end. The use of the Railway Heaven is great, infinite as opposed to the purgatory buffer to buffer of Patriot’s afterlife. Love the allusions to TATMR and the vague hints of what’s been happening on Mid Sodor’s last legs with Bertram’s tender at the bottom of a ravine.

Even though I didn’t shed any tears, this story left me feeling heavy hearted, in a joyful sort of way. You just keep doing it again, E. Time after time, you make some of the best stories in the fandom that just appear seemingly out of nowhere. If I could meet you in person, Matt, I would want to give you a big hug, and tell you just how much of an inspiration you really are to me and this fandom as a whole. Not to mention, how much better the official series would do in your hands... just saying.

Just that shot of Bertrams tender gives me a lot more respect for your Bertram. The music was beautiful and the fact that Atlas practically went mad trying to get his job done shows his dedication and care to his work. I'd love to make Mid sodor customs but I barely have a normal Thomas so I'm gonna have to wait a while:) And I know it's not but it's sounds a lot like you voicing Atlas. I'm seriously digging the community doing all these stories on the Mid-Sodor, since it's a literal gold mine for untapped stories. Joe Exotic sounds like the next rising star in Hollywood! This was definitely a story we needed to hear in a very dark time. And I love the little Easter eggs from the engine purgatory we saw in Dead End and Fortune Teller, as well as the reference to that Bertram story in the works we talked about in January.
