The king has dementia and hallucinations. He thinks he saw her in his room 2 nights ago and now the queen says “Amelie is dead”. So his head immediately goes: she must’ve killed her. But Amelie was ill, she died several years prior, he just can’t remember... (this scene is heartbreaking)
