This song BROKE me when I first heard it. And still does. His line that apologizes for choosing drugs over his kids... hits hard. My mum lost her life due to hard drug use for over many many years. I resented her for "choosing" drugs over me and my brother, and it still hits hard when I hear parents got sober FOR their kids. I'm 34 and still hurt over that.

I felt so strongly two different emotions watching the MVs for Somebody Save Me and Temporary (especially) because I feel so much grief and hurt losing my dad to alcoholism so young, the shame, the pain - it’s so strong - but I also feel hope and love when I see the beautiful moment where Hailie gets married and gets to share beautiful moments with her dad. I am grateful he won against his addiction and is there for her. I don’t feel any envy that my dad isn’t here for me, I just feel glad that she doesn’t have to experience that pain. Seeing her smile is heartwarming. These two songs are just packed full of so much emotion. I can’t help but cry my eyes out every single time. Because my name is similar I feel like my dad is talking to me when Em is speaking from the perspective of a reality where he didn’t beat addiction. His music is very special to me.

I was born in 1990 so Eminem I first listen to when I was 9 and now I'm 34 and he is an inspiration to everyone fr what he has achieved. He would go trough hell and back again for your sake, tell him you love, respect and appreciate him more often.
