We’ve been enthroning Bishops since 600 AD at least. The first Archbishop of Canterbury and all of his assistants were “enthroned” according to Bede - if it was good enough for the first generation of the church it’s good enough for now - and after so so long we have a duty to treasure our heritage. This is the stuff that makes up our national heritage and culture if nothing else
