Most of this sounds really good in theory, but there seems to be a lot of "busy work". Eat, drink, shower, clean your gun, repair or get new armor, repair your ship, .... Then I guess log off because I'm out of "play time". I hope all the busy work will be short and easy. Menial tasks you have to check off daily to try and be at your peek seems tedious. It reminds of me of my weekly ritual in Eve where it was nothing but "logistics night" because I was a pirate and needed to constantly get in new supplies and ships.

Been holding the line over a decade now. Early backer here. Happy as a pig in shit with what CIG is doing. Part of why this project is so gonzo is that lunatics like me pushed to blow up the scope in early days. If you are angry at scope creep... Don't blame CIG, blame me and the other early backers that kept throwing gasoline on Chris' vision. Those of that voted to blow up the scope. It took a long time to get here, but we are here. And now instead of the Best Damned Space Sim Ever.... We are getting the Best Damned GAME Ever. Of all the Kickstarter s and crowdfunded projects I pledged for, this is the one I feel genuine pride in. No game has a tenth of this ambition. No game is as custom tailored for my personal tastes in games. Well, it isn't being built to me tastes specifically, but it honestly feels like it may as well be. If all CIG was doing was trying to make this game for me and me alone, my spec, my priorities.... It would change nothing. It would be the same game, you'd watch the same video. Its a weird feeling In a project this large, long and complex, that it feels like I could have had a say in every major decision.... And the choices would all stay the same. For me, it is critic proof. It was my money and CIG has made me very happy with what they did with it. All they have to do is make the backers happy, and this backer is very happy. If a critic somewhere doesn't like it.... Why should I care? It wasn't there money, and _I_ am happy with this project, so.... No fucks given. Their job was making me happy with the money I put in. I can't speak for othersz but for myself.... CIG has always done what I'd have wanted then to do. I won't say what I pledged.... But uh.... Its grand to be an admiral or even a space marshall.... If you get my meaning. This is _MY_ game. Not that I own it, or it belongs to me any more than CR or any of you. But that it is so comically suited to my tastes that no other game in my life can be this good from my perspective, my tastes, priorities and preferences. I was an early backer. I will be there when the last server goes down. And this will be my primary game for that entire span. I am the cartoon cliche backer for this project. Grew up with Star Wars, played Wing Commander when it was new (upgraded to VGA for it), even enjoyed his films. I love immersion and realism in gaming. I love open worlds and universe you can live in. I love space sims.... I was playing Elite on my C64 before many of you reading this were born. No game has tried so hard to match my tastes. No regrets, still cheering them on, and getting pumped up to see the finish line at last. This is going to be the greatest game ever. You are welcome to have a differing opinion, but understand I don't care. It was my money and CIG is handing me the greatest game ever in my opinion. And in this greatest game ever, I've had a backstage pass watching it get madez and hooked up with a metric fuckton of ships and gear. My starter ship? Is a fucking Polaris. With LTI. I have an entire fleet with LTI. And holy hell, in the entire history of gaming, if I got to choose just one to have a backstage pass and serious hookup for.... Well.... This is it. This is the one. Not even a close choice. Screaming obvious. Star Citizen. The answer to the question 'what happens when well heeled nerds bypass any publisher and direct fund.... To insane levels... A mad genius' vision, providing the resources for a large dream team of devs who will push so hard on so many established tech boundaries as to force the entire industry into deep self reflection, re evaluating what words like 'possible' and 'impossible' even mean, as they casually invent new tech regularly that turns the latter into the former?' I gave CIG money, they did precisely what I hoped they would with it. I would say we have a solid customer/business relationship. They didn't make everyone happy, but they sure as hell catered to me. Which is why I say politely l, should your opinion differ.... All you can get from me is a shrug. I can't be bothered to give a shit when my money was used how I wanted it to be, insane scope, delays and all. Mistakes have been made, sure. But there are no perfect software development projects. Ever. I am a dev (not games, but still, trust me on this). From my perspective, considering the size and scope of the project, this is actually remarkably well managed. I've managed much smaller projects with far more mistakes I can assure you. In fact, even the smaller projects I've worked on were not as well managed as CIG has done. I seriously tip my hat to the PMs, they are actually doing an outstanding job, and most devs would agree if they dug into this project. As messy as it has been, this is actually what really good development looks like. You should see the bad projects before you judge ;) But I am on a rant to say, a long time backer walking on air after these prezos. Some might bitch, but.... Shrug.... I just can't care for the reasons given.

Only the NPC will work, is if they load the behaviour into the ship's memory bank. This will allow them to function independently from the Server lag, and serve on the ship seamlessly.

I love your videos noobifier. The formats great and I enjoy your measured enthusiasm. One bit of criticism would be that too much of the time the visuals don’t match the words enough and can be quite distracting (for me). There is also loads of visual information that could be conveyed through showing the corresponding part of the demonstration. To me if you want to improve the amount of information (both through speech and visually) conveyed, then working on your visual presentation of information would bring them up in line with the words. I realise speed might be one of the constraining factors regarding that though. Cheers for the videos!

5:32... there is a part on this video where the ship stops and shoot at rocks on the side of the beach... that water effect is no longer there... only splashes.... I think they attached a hidden sphere linked under the ship that activate the water effect for now.. just to show that effect.

Yah the base building demo has inspired me. Im gonna be buying a Pioneer during the up coming IAE. Also the blueprints idea has me wondering if an Endeavor will be able to take basic versions and use its science labs to upgrade or research variants of those blueprints. Also id imagine you could do it in a ground based science lab if you built one at your home base. Im super excited for homesteading.

Star Citizen is already a single map... it uses 64bit system for the world... There are no loading screens and warp drive thing is NOT a loading screen disguise... you can drop out of it when ever you want So every planet... and place in between planets and stations... are all REAL and are just one huge map Now transition from Stanton to Pyro might be a loading screen disguise but maybe not i don't actually know lol

Really great video. Thank you for all your hard work. I wonder if I can ask advice. I have been following SC now for a little bit, curious and fascinated. My only worry about joining the universe is the potential for griefing. I have some friends that tried it and got destroyed right away and often as well as some getting rammed before they could even take off in some cases. Is this a problem? Does it happen a lot? SC is a considerable investment, and I am curious how much of that really happens, if at all. Thank you for the advice in advance :)
