Love how you’re bringing my childhood back! Killing it!

No doubt! I was ten when this came out! I used to go to the The Silver Snail comic shop in Toronto twice a month with my dad! Best times!

Dude the nostalgia is strong! This is one of the greatest comic book stories ever! I was in grade 4 when this came out. Nobody compares to Claremont!

Grade 4? Don’t I feel like an old man now. I was a senior in high school when this one dropped.

Claremont had the advantage of having 18 years on the title, most writers now are lucky if they can stay on the same title for 12 issues. It’s probably what hurts the stories of modern comics more than anything else.

@@Senseitional_comics I also blame 'decompressed storytelling'. Heaven knows Claremont drug some stories out forever too... but there always seemed to be SOMETHING happening during the issues. Nowdays? What used to be a single issue is now a minimum of 6 (for TPB purposes) and you can go 2 pages with nothing happening but characters exchanging glances. I remember Amazing Fantasy 15 was about 8-12 pages long total... Ultimate Spider-man went 4 issues before he ever put on a costume. So yeah, modern writers are lucky to stay on a book for whole 12 issues and during that time, maybe get through 2 story arcs...

I love the X-Men long read videos you put out!

This is the arc that made me a die hard X fan... For a couple of decades, anyhow. It felt like the strange energy that fuelled these books started to ebb away in the mid nineties, but when this story hit the newsagents, it was firing on all cylinders. Good job bringing this to KZbin! Thanks mate!

Thank you SOOOOOOO much for great content to lift weights to. Being a classic 90's/00's freaky geek, I need something special to drive me!

Magneto being headmaster of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters is a wild time in comics history. We also got She-Hulk filling in for The Thing in the FF and Spider-Man wearing a suit made of symbiotic alien. 80s Marvel was peak imagination.

You gotta do more Claremont X-Men! Fall of the Mutants, Inferno, and X-Tinction Agenda would all make for cool videos! 😁

If you guys are able to then can you make a long video on full Marvel's Civil War Saga? If you can then it would be awesome no 🧢

I do feel like this was one of the 'beginning of the end' things for the X-men. This was when instead of having a great story.... It was a crossover extravaganza... Seriously. if you want to collect it you gotta get power pack and Thor?? I remember in the 90's it felt like every year was half devoted to some all consuming crossover between 4-6 books when i really only liked ONE or maybe TWO of them.

This was the best story and i was hooked with the X-Men. Still wanna she Freedom Force fight the Marauders.

I had no idea that artist had been doing x men that long I thought Jim Lee was before this guy and this guy's before Jim Lee. This is the same artist that did the Wolverine losing his animintam to Magnito.

Power Pack is a strange inclusion in this story arc. Daredevil vs Sabretooth is cool and Thor was a great addition, but Power Pack feels like they shouldn't be here...I guess the Powerpuff Girls weren't the first team of kids to occasionally encounter messed-up stuff after all.

The vocals are horribly distorted. Keep your face 5"-6" away from the mic and use the compressor in OBS to compensate. Roll off the low end EQ @250 Hz. My poor ears .... my poor studio monitors ....

Came here to say this! (Fantastic content deserves equally fantastic audio quality)

wow. a one hour video.. thats literally unwatchable nor hearable because you oversaturated the audio to the max. but hey, of course, why not.
