I love when people share pen collection videos of high quality artist/drawing/handlettering pens! (as opposed to a whole video talking about ballpoint pens -__-. I love watching these types of videos. I totally understand what you mean when you explain that seeing the pens brings you joy :) Also, very cool idea with the copic holder! I am much like you, in that, I prefer things to have a particular spot so I don't have to go hunting for a certain color. Great vid!

I fully agree with you!! I love pens...when I walk into an art store I have to put some serious discipline on myself. I think I need to go and check out the Steadler calligraphy pens. Looks like you are very well stocked on that one. After trial and error, I prefer my pencils and pens to be in a slot. I want to open the case and see immediately the pens/pencils and not try and find something that is somewhere. I think you can appreciate that one coming from another pen lover. Wow! I am an amateur when it comes to pens. I spent the video alternating between "oh my bob, how many does she have?!" and staring with a silly grin on my face (and possibly drooling just a bit). I totally get you with pencil cases and how they have to be stored just right - I had trouble finding my current case because of that. And I would love to make a pen video for you - but it would be very short, and half of them would be missing because of the chaos in the house. And I may be squirreling the concept of a pen test notebook into my mind for future use.

+Otte Deneb Haha, I've had all those emotions as well. That's why I brought up storage because it's such an issue. Before I got these completely organized last year, I was going nuts. A lot of people do pen tests in the back of their planners, which I have also done, but I wanted a main reference booklet that I didn't lose from year to year when my planners changed. Ah, the pen journey... ;-)

I think you mentioned in another video that you don't like giving away pens or things to other people if you don't like them? If so the best way I've found to 'get rid' of stuff I don't like is to add them to the communal use areas eg, refill the pen box beside the phone when it gets empty, add them to the communal pen storage box or add paper you don't like or no longer use to the communal books and paper storage area, the paper area in particular is a big thing for my family whenever you finish a term at school and need a new subject book yet haven't finished your old one we simply remove the used pages (or blank pages if there are only a few) then either continue using the book for something else or generally it gets added to the communal book and paper storage for anyone who needs it, if you want to keep your old stuff you could just remove the blank pages or remove the used pages and use a large clip to hold them together or something. I've also found that if you like using ring binder folders you can use a hole punch to make cheap and inexpensive paper refills or cut the paper up and use a large magnetic clip for a cheap shopping list for the fridge. Sorry focusing more on paper towards the end there but basically if you live with other people I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you use things up if you give them the go ahead without you actually having to 'give' them something you feel is subpar.

Great review! I’m a pen addict & always on the lookout for the “right” holder for my Bible studies. Your swivel remote control holder...How about crafting it a bit, add a mesh to the side to keep the smaller ones from sliding out? I love your study basket idea. Technically the glass pen is a dip pen. Without a feed and ink reservoir, it's not a fountain pen.

I'm curious about your thoughts on storing your writing materials vertically. I too am very OCD about keeping everything separated, but I do it by type, color, and horizontal using Artbin Prism six and single compartment boxes. I kept finding mixed advice about storing your markers, calligraphy pens/markers, gel pens, and other writing materials horizontally. I was concerned,that because of my health, there are some days or weeks that I can't craft or play with my supplies. Long question short...Do you find that you have any performance issues with your writing materials stored vertically?

You have so many Microns! Cool to see someone who loves microns as much as I do I have a question tho, what do you do with the pens when they run out of ink or the tip wears out? The Microns have such a nice and quality feeling body that I don't want to throw them away (also because of landfills and environmental impact I don't throw empty pens in the trash), so I've been thinking about moving to the Copic multiliner because it's refillable and you use refills like a normal pen, or using technical pens instead of fineliners since they're also refillable (I use fineliners for art and drawing)
