If you live with your parents, but you've got a job and you're not freeloading off of them, that's completely fine. In fact, I think that should be normalized more. It's a lot cheaper than renting, so you can save up a lot more if you do. I personally lived with my parents until I was 25, at which point I had saved enough to buy a house.

@CaptainB1994
@CaptainB1994 Жыл бұрын
I should clarify, my mum and dad split up when I was 12 and my mother basically forced me to live with her and her new fella from 12 up until 18 when the child benefits she could claim because of me living with her ran out, when they did, she basically reduced my life to a few bin bags and dumped me on my dad's doorstep and if it wasn't for him, I honestly don't know if I'd even be alive today, all I had to do whilst living with my dad was pay a few bills and pay him a bit of money for rent and on occasion cook our dinner, other than those things, as long as it was legal and he knew roughly what I'd be doing who I was going to be with and roughly what time I'd be back, my dad didn't give a rat's a$$ what I did, whereas my mother was the exact opposite, she had to know exact details on EVERYTHING, an don top of that I always had to be home at precise times or else, but with my dad as long as he had a rough idea of when I'd be home he was alright, oh and with my mother she'd only allow me to do things that she approved of, I'd ask her "Can I go to X?" and she'd 99% of the time say no, it was a f***ing miracle that she said I could go on a trip to Berlin with college. Living with my mother made me want to game end myself constantly, now I'll admit I did have the odd argument with my dad but they were way less frequent and resolved way quicker and quieter than those with my mother. It's been nearly 2 years since my dad passed away and I miss him everyday and I'll once again say I will forever be grateful for him giving me a roof over my head when I was at my lowest

We don’t know this persons personal situation. Granted, they do just seem like an entitled man child. However, some people live with their parents for good reasons. I lives with my parents til mid 30’s cuz my dad is handicap and the medical system and insurance in America does jack to help people like him with their basic needs. He could barely walk and was in constant pain. So I helped him get around cuz mom wasn’t capable. I really don’t like people caring so much about people’s personal life’s. Fact is, it’s none of our business. That said, he sounds like the guy who makes folks like myself seem like losers for living with their parents, making the stereotype ring true. If so, Shame on him. Seeing stuff like this is saddening to watch. I am an English autistic person living in the UK where the cost of living crisis is a massive issue due to the incompetence of the UK government. i am 29 (soon to be 30 years old in December as i write this comment). I still live with my mum and dad and i pay contribution to the flat. I have a part time job as a catering assistant and i receive a form of disability welfare. With the help of my mum and dad, i have been actively looking for a small flat i can call home. I am deeply greatful because it has helped understand the value of having a family and working together. This 30 year old guy needs to wake up, let go of his ego, find a job (doesn't have to be full time or anything) and simply contribute and act as a family unit.

When I heard that he had a seventeen year old sister my heart hurt for her. I have a 30 year old uncle who lives with me and my grandma who is his mother. I’m seventeen too and he probably says the same stuff about me. He’s lived with us for about four years now and has refused to get a job. He stomps around the house, slamming doors when my grandma and me are “being to loud” in her own living room. He punches walls too. He’s yelled at my grandma about how I make it miserable to live in the house. He’s thrown out my clothes and told be that he wished that my grandma never took care of me. He makes it miserable to live here, I’m constantly walking on eggshells counting the days where I can move out. While I’m writing this he actually just slammed a door. sadly i was in the same situation, and i can somewhat relate with what was going through his head. i spend 6 years of my life depressed, being inside a bedroom for 90% of the day. getting out only for food in the kitchen, while not providing ANYTHING in return to my single mother, let's just say i was what you would not want for a son. until i started to wake up at 4:00am to search for jobs, alone, walking 16km a day searching and going through interviews untill i finally got it. that was 5 years ago, today i live by myself with a comfortable living, with no one to "control" my life and i'm happy the way i turned out. i'm so sorry for what his parents are going through, their son is not well, that's why they wouldn't kick him out. so glad i was fortunate to realize that as harsh as it sounds, we have to carry our own weight and if you are not making decisions with your life, you are essentially forcing others to make them for you, and is not a surprise the outcome will not always be what you want. i hope someday he will realize that too.

There isn't anything wrong with living with family, as long as you aren't mooching to the maximum. I moved out when I was 18, moved in when my mom got cervical cancer, moved out when she was up and working, moved back in when my stepdad got pancreatic cancer, still kind of dealing with that but food is on the table and mortgages are being paid. Things are looking good both financially and health wise. Surprisingly girls like that, I thought telling woman that I live with my mom would be a relationship killer. If anything its a good filter for trouble.

Bro this is my dad, he's 52 and has never lived out of his parents' house. Nor has he had a job in 12 years. This is exactly what would happen, even with his mom dead he still burdens his elderly father who still works to have to feed and shelter him.

I'm 33 years old been living with my mother, and my youngest brother all my life. Even I got a job making 20 an hour paying 600 bucks half of the rent for the apartment and never had an issue with that. He just need to put on the big boy pants and quit acting like a pathetic child..

One thing that has to be pointed out is that they're obviously from the UK, not the US. In Europe and most of the world, living with your parents past your early twenties is very normal. Not that it changes that guy's entitlement, but everyone here is American and still cant fathom other cultures having different norms.

I agree with this video so much how do you allow yourself to be like this, for me Im 25 live with my mom and I got a job with my dad and I would never talk to my parents like that they'd either throw me out like will smith in fresh prince or beat me. Im very fortunate and happy that my mom hasn't kicked me out at 18

Same here, I'm like a year younger than you. My parents tell me not to "waste" any money on them, and they refuse to let me share the bills... But I never just took advantage of them and closed myself off in my room. It did take me a few years through short time jobs until I landed on my current long-lasting one. And now I can at least contribute to the household by buying groceries. My parent's have tried, but they can't stop me from buying the pricey fruits and veg lol. It definitely takes a certain kind of person to act this entitled to moch of their parents like this...

One even had a job and didnt contribute to anything meanwhile im in school and working people are actually like this. I lost my job like 3 months ago and i hated every day since then because to not be able to help and be self sufficent sucks. Im thankful to not be like this guy.

rent is getting expensive especially in the states and unless you are rich you aint owning a house so for many people its an unfortunate reality they need to stay with their parents longer than they would want to.

@@HaiiKris: 23 and still living with my parents for that reason alone. Got a job, still studying, and am actually in the process of starting a startup company with my mates. Use this time wisely to build your life before that inevitable big move. Also, it depends on the family, but just because you live under the same roof doesn't mean you aren't independent. Think of it like roommates. You share the same house, but you partake in the responsibilities and finances of the house like a functioning adult and still live your life outside of that normally. Unlike this guy who's a potato....

I’m 27 and just recently lost my job, so I had to move back in with my parents because I needed their help. I went from a 3 bedroom apartment to myself, to a single room with a twin bed for free. I am more than grateful for it and I could never imagine talking to my parents like this and finding a girl to bring home is my furthest priority atm
