I don’t care how many followers I have, my opinion isn’t any better than an artist with 5 followers. It makes me upset that just because there’s a few nasty popular artists, that means somehow I am a part of their nastiness. Follower count does not equal personality or opinions. (Btw I love how eloquently you spoke about this subject, you’re so kind and amazing at art❤️❤️❤️)

Frankly, if I dislike the video, I move on. If I find a You Tuber whose content is consistently annoying to me, I don't subscribe. The one who told you that you shouldn't even respond to her opinion because she basically had a right to voice an opinion without anyone arguing the opinion because they had a differing opinion - that person is the definition of entitled "my opinion is more valid than yours so don't argue with me". As for teachers - teachers can have an opinion but when it steps on the ability for a student to earn their grades based on their work and showing that they understand the concepts being taught - it crosses a line. I come from a family and a group of friends who are artists of some sort - music, art, photography, writing, sewing and other fantastically skilled endeavors - some people try to take advantage of them and it's wrong. I even have friends in the field of medicine (human & animals) whose friends seem to feel they have a right to take advantage of these passions. My opinion - don't take your friends skills for granted, particularly if they are aiming to make a career of it. Interestingly enough, I noticed a kind of "glut" of "Tubers" taking up the "things that annoy an artist" or "artist struggles" or "what's real art - Manga, digital, traditional". I kind of binge watched these videos. It never once occurred to me to think that any of you were doing anything more than sharing a part of what your lives are like. When I got tired of them, I stopped watching them. Easy Peasey - most of the videos are titled so that you can get a glimpse of the content. Don't like the topic, move on to one you find useful. I'm sorry there are hurtful people out there. You don't come across as entitled, or mean or full of yourself or anything else. You're sharing a part of you, and I, for one, greatly appreciate it.

I used to think I was honor bound to give free art to family and friends. Honestly, it's not even about the money for me. I don't think most non artists realize the time that goes into making art. Eventually, you get tons of requests for things you don't have time to do and people get all offended when you don't magically produce something. And you have a lot less time to make the art you want to make. The best way to get artist block for me is having to make so much art for others that I don't have time to work on the things I'm inspired to make. Nope. I learned fast. These folks wanting free art don't respect your time and often don't show appreciation for what you give them as they think it was your place to make them what they want when they want in the first place. That kind of blows my mind that one artist would scold another for not giving their art away. What's it to them? Maybe that person has all the time in the world to take art orders, but others have to study, work, take care of a family, etc.
@LemiaCrescent7 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. That was extremely similar to my own situation. I was working 3 jobs and going to college full time at one point and one of my friends had a whole log of things he wanted me to make for him. There were huge periods of time I did absolutely nothing for myself because I had too much to do for everyone else. x.x; At a certain point it may become a problem, and there is nothing wrong with putting a stop to stuff like that if it's no longer something you WANT to do. :

Mozelle Elzora Now HOLD YOUR HORSES. I didnt say that the artist cant not allow other people say their opinions. I just pointed out the comment's contradiction. Though personally, I dont agree. If people are entitled to their opinions, then why be so afraid to see them? You can agree, disagree, ignore, and the like. I think opinions, especially criticism, constructive ones, can help an artist improve and grow. I dont really have a problem with people that dont like criticism and I dont argue with them either. However, I think they could potentially be sitting out on the oppurtunity to improve with the assistance of other people's opinions. (Now, I dunno if this was mentioned in the video. I last watched it months ago. But that's my piece.)

Art teachers need to treat their students with respect if a student draws anime in their spare time for fun who cares? You shouldn't tell someone to stop it what if drawing anime is their favorite self care thing? It's none of their business unless a student draws anime for an assignment that had very rigid rules like draw a landscape and this student drew an anime character then the teacher should still be respectful but let the student know that they got a bad grade because they didn't do the assignment following those rules not be mean to them because they like anime art.

On the rare occasion is do art it’s usually only detailed sketches, artists don’t generally have time to do free art. Elika Adam The only people whom dont get charged by me for my art is my mother, my partner of 4 years, and I have a small group of friends - all whom are different level artists. We always draw art for each other, constantly throwing gift art at each other. Thus, I dont charge them because I honestly consider anything I do for them gift art in return for all the art theyve given me. And I enjoy drawing stuff for them, theyre lovely people. Otherwise, to call an artist entitled for wanting money for their work, I think its rather bratty to say, don't you? We work hard to gather our skill, we have a right to not want to be forced to do art for free. We're allowed to say no to whatever we want, and if someone wants to whine, well.. in the end, they didnt put the years of effort in. They dont sit, crouched over a table, for hours on end working hard just to finish a piece.

When it comes to someone with a platform voicing an opinion... we see this a lot in the entertainment and sports industries in our society. How many times do we hear about, see, or even say ourselves that "so-and-so celebrity needs to shut up and just act/play sportsball/sing/whatever and shut up about their opinions!"?... but that's only because they're voicing an opinion the complainer disagrees with. If a celebrity is voicing an opinion that people agree with, they are applauded for using their platform to speak out on an issue and bring awareness to something. It's a ridiculous hypocrisy. ...and, if we're honest... we all participate in it to varying degrees. Everyone is at least a little hypocritical, a little selfish, a little entitled, a little... not perfect. Best thing we can do is recognize that, admit when we're wrong, and support each other. :-)

*sigh* Even if someone has a morally "wrong" opinion, they still have a RIGHT to that opinion and a RIGHT to voice that opinion. In my original post, I was talking about celebrities who voice their political opinions and how we (as a society) praise the celebrities whose opinions we agree with, but we tell the ones we disagree with to "shut up and act/play sportsball/sing" and we treat them like they aren't allowed their opinions simply because they are celebrities and we disagree with them. Yes, racist, sexist, whatever beliefs are, in my opinion, morally wrong. While I am free to criticize those beliefs (and do), I can't silence them... nor would I want to. How can we combat hate when we don't allow hate to make their case? Silencing speech doesn't get rid of the problem. It puts a bandaid on it and solves nothing.

Most artists use different ink supplies like markers, liners and even different coloured inks. So really if its ink then thats enough. Everyone uses pencil before starting even Jake Parker. What i think the artist ment was to use the hashtag it has to follow the rules that Jake Parker set if it does then ignor selfish cruel commentors or even better post the link to Jake Parkers video and tell them to watch it they cant say anything then

This actually reminds me of things I've especially seen on Facebook recently. When someone has an established platform to speak out on and they use it, one of two things happens. If people agree, the entirety of their comments become "Yeah, good for so-and-so, standing for what they believe in, give them support cuz they need it!!!" If they DON'T agree, however, these same people who praise certain views from popular/established people will usually spout off something like this: "When will these people realize that no one cares what they think??? Shut up and go back to writing/singing/acting/making videos/etc." It's gotten so bad that I've actually seen KZbin ADS saying that kind of thing. It's something very hypocritical that has gotten very prevalent here recently, this mindset of "FREEDOM OF SPEECH - unless you support the opposite of my views, then you should shut up, sit down, do what you're paid to do, and never speak out again." ... Sorry for the long comment, ^^' I just feel very passionately about this sort of thing.

I get the impression that a lot of people just don't really understands how a discussion or debate works, and why there is value in talking about issues that affect us or are important to us. Having a platform that allows you to more loudly contribute to the discussion doesn't make you entitled, nor does it mean you aren't allowed to use your voice and speak your mind. There's also a weird thing where people don't seem to grasp that they can disagree and still be friends/fans/whatever. Likewise, you don't have to love or follow everything someone says just because you're a fan or admire that person or have agreed with them in the past. We can all be different people who share our opposing viewpoints and get along and learn from eachother and grow. That's how a community works. That's how people work.

Man, thank you so much for making this random video. I have been having such a hard week and my mental health has been slowly declining and I just had to re-home my two favorite pet rat boys which obviously didn't help. My therapist is out on maternity leave so I have have no one to talk about this stuff too so I feel like I am a porcelain doll, slowly but surely getting chipped away at, waiting to crumble. This video was extremely calming and was just what I need to help boost me up at least out of the depression tipping point. So, thank you. Seriously, thank you.

art1 ärt/Submit noun 1. the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Off topic but.... manga is considered art

I've always believed art is subjective. Whatever you think it is, whether it be composing an entire orchestra, making some fancy looking food-even plain old painting-that's what you think it is and what it can be. Of course, it can still be measured. For example, something revolutionary in the field of art (looking at you, Monet) is most often considered incredible.

I'm still trying to figure out how to have my own opinions after my run-in with the Star Wars fandom, so I'm really enjoying these sorts of videos where people are literally sharing their opinions on OPINIONS. It feels really nice to be in a community where people aren't afraid to stand by what they believe, and defend one another even if they don't agree with them.

I can't handle how incredible you are. You are so accepting and just loving to everyone. You tell it like it is, yet you are so kind and eloquent about every one of these topics. I've never watched a KZbin channel that I get such positive vibes from. I've only been a subscriber for like 4 days, but you've already gotten me through a couple of near panic attacks. You are honestly the only person who has given me any hope for the human race. (Maybe I should look for more people like you.) The best quote to describe you is from the new(ish) Cinderella movie: "Have courage and be kind." Please never become discouraged and keep up with your beautiful work. You bring me (and clearly so many others) joy.

Hearing different opinions is the reason I love listening to art videos, and Jose toy the whole community seems to genuinely want to support eachother which is so refreshing. I don't think teachers should tell a student not to do a specific art style just because they don't like it in the same way that a history teacher shouldn't not teach something because it dosent fit their current political views. It's one thing to offer critique like "art schools would rather see a varied portfolio and not JUST manga" but to punish someone just because of a personal opinion is wrong and students in general should be encouraged to be creative. Creativity helps so much with mental and emotional development and it should always be encouraged.And as far as art and friends, I know I'll do projects for family and friends for free because I usually enjoy doing the project and often times they've "paid" me in other ways like getting me food or helping me out with something. It kind of evens out in the end. The same goes for my friends. If I commission something, I will pay for it. If they offer it for free, I'd try to pay in another form like food, baked goods or even an art trade. I think not even offering to pay a normal commission price is rude as a friend. It's telling someone you supposedly care about that their time and effort isn't worth anything. It's kind of an artist to give free art but it's rude of a friend to not expect to pay.Thank you for all your videos! I love watching you create!

Dude, you especially come across as incredibly down to earth and sincere. I don’t really understand how someone could think the art community on KZbin is super entitled or whatever... I’ve only come across 2 artists in this community that I don’t like as people.
@lorenwilson68317 жыл бұрын
There are two well known KZbin artists that I DO think have an entitled attitude. For those two KZbinrs I do think the "fame" and attention has gone to their heads a little bit. There are also just a lot of really entitled artist out there in the real world. People who think that unless your're painting like a master from the renaissance than nothing you make is "real art" and could never be profitable. People with attitudes like "I'll never sell prints of my work, if someone can't afford to by my $4,000 gallery painting even though nobody has heard of me, then they don't DESERVE my art!...Hey guys, why aren't I making any money off my art?? Why won't people buy my master pieces?" When it comes to people like this (on KZbin or elsewhere) I kind of just roll my eyes, MAYBE make a statement of my personally opinion/disagreement, and then move on, ignoring or avoiding them if need be. They're not worth the energy.

This is actually a very interesting topic. I have seen you tubers in general who are rather...condescending but none of them are the artists I've seen. Teachers are NOT meant to tear down their students. I was lucky and had a very cool art teacher who while he didn't let me deviate from the assignment he compromised and created a week where our weekly sketchbook could be animated characters and he never once tore a student down though he did fairly get annoyed when the kids didn't follow the directions to the work. The friends issue is hard for me to relate to, but with family they don't ask me for things. I draw for them because it makes me happy to see them when they see what I've drawn for them. I enjoy your channel and in no way find you to be entitled. You are a sweet person and your art is super cute and it is a pleasure to be able to just see it. I hope you have a happy and safe Halloween.

No I don't think KZbin artists seem entitled generally. Actually the opposite seems true. It seems like they tend to be humble and friendly. And I certainly think you are in that group. Probably the reason you get these comments sometimes is because you are courageous enough to put a strong opinion out there from time to time. I know as a KZbin artist myself sometimes I shy away from certain opinions. Sometimes I'm a little more courageous but I certainly understand the pressure and risk it can be to watch what you say. Keep speaking your mind and being open you're doing great! And I can see that you're confident enough to know that! 😎

As artists we hear often that we're selfish, entitled, greedy, or even know-at-alls. These people are also the ones that get mad because one we don't agree with them, or two they didn't get their way of wanting free art, or super cheap art. Because of course we worked hard for it. These kind of people should be ignored because their opinions are too rude to be acknowledged. Especially since they dont know us.

I find you to be helpful, kind and relatable, and there's not a single youtuber that I can think of that isn't simply a hard worker who is also grateful for the following they have, whether it's 100 or 10000 subscribers. I know that even on my own videos I am SO GRATEFUL to even get a few views, and I can't imagine ever feeling any other way, and it's obvious from the emotion in your voice that you are just happy to do what you love. That's beautiful! I think that in general, people just have a defensive reaction when they're insecure or need to hold on to a certain truth and someone else says "hey maybe there's another way to do this, or another truth." Because your opinion is valid and you seem like someone who is confident from your videos, that's frankly, a little threatening to others who are less experienced in life. Also I think it's good to value your own work and be willing to charge others for it, even friends sometimes. Art is WORK, it's not magic, it's not instant. That's very valuable in my opinion.

At the end of this video, I felt like giving you a big hug. It is hard to think of people who say such things to creators with little to no thought of how much time and effort the creator takes to keep their audience entertained or happy. I feel like people seem to be very spoiled now. Like a kid who always gets everything they want, that eventually they become blind and bitter on seeing the actual effort put into the product. Whenever I've had expectations on a channel, or even a judgement on how someone lives, my viewpoint always seems to change when I am faced with similar issues. (I feel like now being an artist, it is easy to be manipulated, and can totally relate to the type of friends you had growing up. Sadly) Anyways, I feel like the best way for people to learn how to connect with an artist is actually attempt to become a creator/entertainers themselves. They might fail, or not but maybe then they can have some understanding on the way they treat others... That's my opinion anyway. (Sorry if I sounded emotional through this, I'm currently sick typing this out, but I wanted to get this thought out of my head before forgetting it completely.;/) Lastly, I wanted to say. You are awesome!! Like seriously, you were one of my inspirations growing up and wanting to get into art major in general. I truly hope you keep finding the fun through your art journey, and keep up the fantastic work!!:D

First off, I love that you've been doing these very opinion and discussion oriented videos for the past (year now is it?) I really enjoy them and they're thought provoking and super great to listen to while I'm drawing myself. What I think about the whole "entitled artist" or "entitled content creator with an audience" has very much to do with how the internet and communities are shaped now. Everyone types things now assuming that what they're writing is going to be read by people (even this comment I'm writing now I'm writing with the expectation that someone besides me will read it) and that builds sort of an impression of sharing and voicing opinions to an audience. You don't get replies that often usually, unless you do have a following. The advantage that someone with a following has over someone who doesnt (or doesn't have one as big) is the amount of response. You are entitled (not that you act it) to the responses you get to your opinions. Everyone deserves to have what they write and say be heard, but not everyone is entitled to it because they haven't earned it yet like those with bigger audiences have. It takes work to build a following and a following happens because a group of people are interested in what you're doing/saying/making. There's a bitterness associated with wanting to have your opinion heard but not having anyone there to listen to it, only to turn around and see someone else's opinion (that may or may not be opposite to yours) be voiced, heard by thousands and replied to by hundreds.

When I had heard your thoughts on the word entitled, I'm thinking "fair enough, that is your option" but growing up (and still are) I've always seen the word 'entitled' to define something that everyone deserves to have, for example the saying, 'you are entitled to your own opinion' or that you are entitled to possess basic human rights. I love to see that you promote friendly discussion, rather than arguments that tend to happen when people attack another's opinion of a matter. Yes the people who said those comments are entitled to their opinion, but I personally disagree, but agree with them. I love your videos, and how you discuss a matter while drawing, but also ask other peoples opinions to view both sides of the matter. In all, I have no idea where I'm going with this, but I just love watching your videos!

When I was younger, I used to frequently ask my friend who was really good at drawing to draw me lots of things. At that time, I wasn't aware of how she felt, I was too amazed on how well she had drawn the character I asked for. She would constantly try hiding her drawing from me or anyone around her 'cuz she knew we were going to bug her. Until I decided to draw for myself. I didn't really know how to draw so I would search up my desired character and I would place my paper on top of my laptop and trace. I kept tracing for months until my sisters called me out on it. They said I should start drawing my own art and I shouldn't be stealing other peoples hard work. I shrugged it off, I thought what I was doing wasn't wrong as long as the artist didn't find out. Until my friend called me, she too said I should learn how to draw. That sparked something inside me, not trying to be dramatic or anything, but it really did. While I was learning how to draw, my friend on the other hand started opening up. She had told me that she didn't like it when I would stare at her while she was drawing or when I would constantly ask her for drawing when I could draw them myself. I wasn't a stuck up brat about it and I certainly didn't call her an entitled artist, I simply respected how she felt and I worked to improve myself for her sake. If artist simply just doesn't want to do something for free or just doesn't want to do something at all, no matter if you're their friend or family, they're not entitled to do what you say. Even if you get flustered, you have to respect them. Sorry for the long story, just wanted to share my opinion. I DO NOT trace anymore! I apologize to any artist who I have stole from !!

In regards to family/friends paying for art. There are times when I have made paintings for my own enjoyment (non commissioned, just me feeling inspired) and when I had company over, sometimes people would really like one of my paintings and I would just give it to them for free. Some of my family/friends have commissioned me for canvas paintings for their homes to decorate their walls and I for sure charge them for all the materials I need to put out of pocket for myself, however I usually do give them some sort of 'family discount' if you will. It is not exact math but maybe just rounding it off to a whole number that is less that what I would typically charge a normal customer. To be honest though, I have never had any family or friends expect me to do any artwork for them for free. I am not sure if it is because they understand all the time and effort that goes into it...but even when I do gift art to my loved ones, they always try to give me something as compensation. I do not think it is wrong to charge family or friends for a service. I come from a city where everyone knows everyone and their mother so if I started doing art for free for all of my friends... I would be so burnt out and broke as well. In regards to using KZbin as an outlet to voice discussions - it is your (and whichever other youtubers) channel and you can do whatever you want - if people are not happy with it they do not have to watch or listen. I personally do not like to listen to these 'controversial' or 'trending' topic videos just because I normally think it is... I don't want to say click-baity because you are genuinely talking about the topic of that you are advertising.. but I guess a way to draw people in using drama (I am sorry, please do not take this the wrong way, I love your channel I am just not sure what other way to explain it, lol). But by no means do I think voicing your opinion on trending topics makes you entitled at all - like I said, it is your channel. Technically you are entitled to do whatever the hell you want and say what you want because it is YOUR channel. Again, if people do no like it they can easily just not listen and mute you and watch the artwork. I think people are just getting unnecessarily butt hurt over nothing. Keep on being you and doing your thing girl. High fives and thumbs up to you. :)

I'm a new artist to youtube, and find it hard to talk to other artists. I found what you said pretty helpful, I have a small following and am really happy about that. The only thing that I had a trouble with is trying to talk to other artists (but I get it they all have their own lives) So I personally don't think artists feel better than anyone else, but they are probably a few who actually do. Love your art, you are an amazing traditional artist! Keep up the amazing work!!
@ClaudiaSketches7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. People are calling you entitled because they don't agree with your opinion- if you said something they agreed with they probably wouldn't be as vocal. It's easier to attach negative labels to somebody with an opposite opinion/experiences than to LISTEN and ACCEPT what they're saying, and that their opinion applies to their experience of reality (it's not always black or white!). I think name-calling in this way is a way of minimising you as a threat to their understanding of existence. It's not the right thing to do, but it's the easiest. And from what I've found, many of the people who are upset that other artists charge money for their work (or a certain amount, or charge their friends/family) is because the person who's upset currently ISN'T earning money from their art, or isn't having success with it yet. Once again, it's easier to claim something as being wrong than admitting your own lack of success.

1.) I don't think youtubers that are artists are entitled at all, and I really appreciate that you would take the time and make a video addressing this. 2.) I hate that teachers look down on certain kid's art styles or choices. I had my history teacher do that to me after a test. I was doodling a cat and he thought it was a wolf and I said: "no, it's a cat" and his man proceeded to then tell me that I should draw more realistically if I wanted everyone to know it was a cat. I was pretty embarrassed as this "discussion" took place in a dead silent room with 29 other kids all staring at us and the fact I was just learning to draw. Also, the drawing was really only meant for me, as it was a doodle on the back of my test to pass the time. 3.) No, you should be able to charge depending on the situation. I'm sure you could judge yourself on whether or not it would be an appropriate time to charge someone for your art. These are my personal (basic) guidelines I follow (situationally). Say it's your friends birthday and you ask them what they want. Thay in turn say they want some of your art. Not a time to charge. If they (or anyone) asks you to draw a picture for them randomly, you should charge. If you draw a picture for one of your friends to cheer them up, or a random picture cuz you want to show them something new you learned, obviously no charge. If your mom or aunt or whoever asks you to create some art for them every now and then, no charge. If they continuously ask for art, then you charge AND give them a waiting period so you have time to rest, not stress. I could go on, but I won't and I'll leave the rest out. 4.) Not at all. Everyone's time and energy should be respected and appreciated. Everyone. Whether you're just starting off, or have been pro for five years, it doesn't matter. It's still work and time, no matter how you look at it.

Hi I've been a fan for a while and have a question about sketching I have a lot of trouble making my pencil sketches not look so messy Do you have any tips on how to make a pencil sketch not look like a jumbled up mess of lines? I see how beautiful and pretty your pencil sketches are Also any tips on watercolor skin? Thank you I adore your art and you are one of my top inspirations
@LemiaCrescent7 жыл бұрын
I erase a lot as I go when I sketch, Like...hm how do I explain. Erasing is part of the process, like I draw stuff, but I also carve out lines with the eraser. I have a lot of lines a the beginning when I try to figure out what I feel like doing. The key is to sketch lightly so you can erase all the lines without damaging the paper or leaving marks behind. :D I totally recommend a tombow monozero eraser btw! Watercoloring skin is like coloring skin with any other medium, shadow sand all that are in the same places as you normally would put them. With watercolor you want to build up from light to dark, layering the colors. It's very difficult to successfully remove color from a painting and have it look nice, so it's safer to do it light to dark. Ummm also be mindful of paint to water ratios and don't be afraid to let layers dry in between painting on them. Sometimes being too fast or too slow can effect the outcome of how the paint looks. But as always, just have fun with it! when you practice more you'll get used to the paint more and you won't even have to think about it, it just becomes an automatic thing. Thank you so much for your support! :> I'm so happy that my art helps you in some way!

Unfortunately, as content creators we are people in the public eye, and that means that our circles of connection are wider than we may have ever intended. In "the real world," we tend to surround ourselves with a manageable group of likeminded people who understand your intention and at least mostly understand the journey you've gone through to bring you to the viewpoints you have. On the internet, that's impossible to maintain. And I think we also have to keep in mind that while someone may be misunderstanding your intent, maybe we are misunderstanding theirs. Sometimes it's real obvious whether or not someone is mad, but it's hard to know from one comment WHY; what journey brought someone to the opposing viewpoint, and why they're so passionate about it. It's hard to look at someone else's pain or anger and ask them or yourself why, but....this is something I'm personally trying to work on. You're appreciated too, Lemi. ❤️

What sketchbook do you use? It isn't listed in your materials. Nice video btw.😊

Lemi, this video made me cry! I know I'm late to the comment section so I'll just say that I don't think voicing your opinion makes you entitled or a horrible person. I think the best example of how humble KZbinrs can be is the fact that, just like you did here, they are constantly thanking their followers. If KZbinrs didn't have their fans' opinions in mind and respected them, their content would not click with so many people. If *I* don't like a specific artist for their opinion, I just don't follow them, don't watch their videos, whatever. There's a saying in Spanish that says something like "If we didn't have different tastes, there wouldn't be as many colors"

Also Manga and Anime art is disregarded in school, because people who usually draw in that Kind of style lack fundementals , which is why their art is bad , this is Not meant to be an insult , it IS Just the cold hard truth

It's not the truth at all. You can say that "a person who enjoys drawing in a certain style can't do anything right". That's asinine. Also, if you're going to insult people, maybe learn to type first. A comma is not a period and capitals come at the beginning of a sentence, not randomly on a word in the middle.

I have to say: I started to draw in an anime style too but besides the head and face proportions, i *always* wanted to have a realistic and good anatomy if it's the body of the person i draw. And a month ago i started to try myself on some realistic drawings (and to be honest, they look really scary xD). As someone who likes to draw in an anime style, i do have some things about it that i dislike. For example the people that draw eyes extremely big, just because it's "anime looking" and "cute"... It really just doesn't look appealing to me. It looks ugly and if done wrong even creepy. I did learn many things when drawing only in a style like anime or cartoon. Maybe because i wanted from the very first start a good anatomy. But to assume that _every person_ that draws like that has no fundamentals in drawing, isn't cool. And as you have your own opinion, so have i mine. If you think like that, it's okay. But consider to look at something not only from one point of view. Not only does it give you the opportunity to get more information, but also the chance of maybe changing your opinion. Of course it's even possible that the info you get gives you more reasons to have the opinion you currently have. (For example i hated Justin Bieber from the very beginning, i tried to look up good things he did, but i found none and just more reasons to hate :p) If you don't want to change that thought, then it's your thing. But don't throw *every and all people* in the same hole or whatever the phrase was.

TableWrens I didn't at all say that , people who are good at drawing and draw in that style leared/ are learning the fundementals. What I mean is that this style is usually where people excuse there lack of skill by saying that it is a style. Look at Ahmed Aldoori , look at sui ishida , inio asano , sinix design they all learned the fundementals and are extrodenary artists

Drawin Stuff I totally agree with you! I used to be that one annoying person in middle school who was just way too stubborn in art class. I literally told my art teacher that I "couldn't" draw anything else than anime and that it was all part of my art style. I just kept drawing anime girls instead of the realism we were supposed to practice. I deeply regret that now and get out of my comfort zone pretty frequently to practice my skills. There is a perfect saying for this issue which I have heard often from other KZbin artists as well: "You got to know the rules before you break them".

I never felt like you were entitled. You're really sweet so that person who commented not understanding what you even said needs to just stop talking. And you are an artist who is experienced and has dealt with things that some young artist has just now experienced or haven't yet experienced what you have and you're just giving them advice. Just like me an artist going to college I can give advice about going to a regular college vs an art school. But that doesn't make me entitled. I love when you make videos giving advice because I learn from it. But I guess even having simple advice for people who are experiencing similar things is just wrong. But just keep doing you, you have subscribers who care. You're amazing.

Thank you for making this video. It helped me realize that everyone is opinionated and that’s okay. I really like your channel, I just started watching it. I like art videos that have a discussion on something. I think it’s great to share your opinion as long as it doesn’t put other people down. We have opinions and that’s part of being human, even though everything is controversial right now. But thanks for making your videos, I think they’re awesome.

If friends don't have to pay, then people would try to become your "friend" just to get free art. Unless I choose to make them art, they have to pay. IDC if they're my friend or not. In the business world, everyone is going to be treated like a customer. Not a friend. Hopefully that made sense. I love your videos! Keep it up!

I really enjoy these discussion videos. I don't 100% agree with everything, but you make some excellent points and always present your views in a respectful manner and I respect that. The point of a discussion is to discuss and provoke thought. I honestly look forward to the next discussion as really gets me thinking. Also love your dip pen work and congratulations on your wedding 😍

Could you do a video on how to estimate one's original artwork to sell? Cause, I'm an Intermediate artist & I have no idea how much my art is really worth in the end. :P
