This video was FANTASTIC. Your portrayal of a true-to-life example and your combined use of multimedia, humor, and acting to teach and demonstrate was instrumental to getting the point across. Aiman Rockefeller Then you should not be at University if you need concepts explained at this level, in-fact you have completely misunderstood what a University is for. RESEARCH SKILLS.............
@flashforensics9 жыл бұрын
Mikeeey S Look if you cannot keep up....... They are paid to teach research skills in their given area of expertise. If you honestly believe they are there to 'parrot' teach what they know... then I would suspect you did not progress past primary/secondary school learning level.
@flashforensics9 жыл бұрын
Mikeeey S You are poorly informed on at least two points: 1. I have never attended university "No, that's what school is for, school teaches you through various assignments how to do research on your own. It's no different in University," 2. If you think that doing an assignment a school qualifies as research... well that is just sad. There is a big difference between the 'research' of picking colored pencils for a graph and citing peer reviewed articles.
@flashforensics9 жыл бұрын
Mikeeey S I think it is better you quit whilst you are 'ahead'........ We can add a third criteria . You obviously have no concept of research skills or the purpose of 'citation' .... but good luck with your 'citethisforme'... I'm off to watch sponge bob... maybe the chance for some intelligent feedback.

Business Rule# 4 needs to be adjusted. It actually reads: An employee can be assigned to many projects, and, a project can be assigned to only one employee. The cardinality between the Project and Assignment entities should be turned around and have the minimum cardinality added. My guess is that this was done in Visio 2010. It has some sort of a bug when creating cardinality.

No doubt it is a very well done lecture. I just want to correct for future learners that @10:09 this is a SuperType/SubType Scenario and so there is a mistake in it. It is an IS-A relation and the min/max cardinality on both sides is one-and-only-one. As you can see when the subtypes (Undergraduate/Graduate) using the primary key from Student table and doesn't have their own primary, it actually says that "Undergraduate/Graduate IS-A Student". And Primary Keys are Unique, so once a subtype instance relates to a StudentID of an instance of a supertype then there is no possibility for any other subtype instance to relate to that same StudentID. At @11:34, this diagram is corrected for Hourly_Employee and Salary_Employee. But again a mistake on Assignment table, it should be one-to-many from both sides.

14:36 Diagram B is wrong for "An employee can be assigned to many projects, however a single project can have multiple employees assigned to it". When you create an associative entity there are certain rules that must be followed. Box (one, mandatory one)-------(X, many)Associative Entity (Many, X)------(One, Mandatory) Box . X depends on the business rule but the other ones don't change.
