Then there was the time I saw them at the Vatican(or it might have been the Abyss at that time. Same club) with Morbid Angel and some dude got stabbed about 15 times about 6 feet away from me, during the Phantasm outro 😐
@Skeletorium4 ай бұрын
Phantasm introduced me to Entombed. They were the band that showed me that Death Metal could be more than just brutality. The whole Swedish DM scene is truly astounding, Heavy, Aggressive and Melodic. Entombed didn't owe me anything but gave me so much. LG was a beast, Entombed is legendary, and your cover is absolutely superb 🤘💀🤘

This is a great job man. Funny I’ve been such a big Entombed fan for so long but this is the first time I’ve actually really seen just how impressive the actual chord progressions and changes are on guitar in this masterpiece. Mind blowing to think also how these late 80’s and early 90’s Death Metal musicians were writing songs like this and in their early 20’s!
@BareKragujevdza2 ай бұрын
not just how they could write such a complex melody lines, but also, how it is possible that so much people from different places on Earth start to make such a similar or perhaps the same music? death metal has very very unique riffs and it is hard to believe that this is spontanius...have you ever think about that?

@jacobsamano97612 ай бұрын
@@BareKragujevdza Yeah it’s strange that there hasn’t been more music scenes that have blown up like the Thrash Metal, Death Metal and Black Metal scenes did. There was a very active underground back then of young kids communicating all over the world and trading demo tapes with each other that started with Thrash and bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus and Slayer and spreading to places like Germany with bands like Kreator and Destruction then more kids got involved and wanted to make even more aggressive music with bands in Tampa, FL like Death, Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse as well as the Swedish bands like Nihilist, Carnage and Unleashed to UK bands like Napalm Death and Carcass then spreading to Norwegian Countries in an even more extreme manner with bands like Mayhem, Burzum, Emporer and Immortal. Then like any genre once it reaches its maximum selling point (which even ironically happened with Black Metal bands becoming commercial) then people get tired of its new iteration and move onto the next thing. You still have some Thrash, Death and Black Metal bands around today but it was never as fresh and amazing as it was in the early days when young kids were really committed to it and dedicating their every waking moment to it. As someone who has had a record collection of hundreds of classic Thrash, Death and Black Metal albums it is still astonishing the amount of bands and albums from the late 80’s to early 2000’s of incredible music made by such young musicians. Bands and albums that many people will never even be aware of sadly like Gorguts, Demilich, Timeghoul, Pestilence, Morbid Saint, Purtenance, Demolition Hammer, Infester, I mean there’s so many it’s stupid to name them all.

@@chriskeelor799 My favorite Dismember album is “Indecent & Obscene.” I don’t think they made a “bad” album really as their whole discography is pretty Ace. “Like An Everflowing Stream” is an incredible debut, “Death Metal,” “Massive Killing Capacity,” “The God That Never Was,” “Where Ironcrosses Grow,” awesome stuff. When I think of that classic Boss HM-2 Chainsaw guitar tone I can’t help but think of Dismember.

@freudstein586010 ай бұрын
B Standard!
@vicwrgt25678 ай бұрын
You nailed it man!! I have a huge doubt as a "beginner" guitarrist. If you can help me, what is the tuning for the 7 strings? Because b standard for 6 string is different from the standard B for 7 string, right? I have a 7 strings and i dont know if i just let it in B standard for 7 or change for the b standard from the 6 strings.
@freudstein58608 ай бұрын
B standard for a 7 string is basically standard E for the high 6 strings with an extra low B on the low string so its pretty much the same as if it was a 6 string but with an extra string is all
@hanslundberg40893 ай бұрын
Fantastic, and a nice looking guitar! The tone is absolutley perfect, what are you using to get it? What tuning is it? B standard?

How did you learn this song so precise? By ear or tab or both or other? Also what string gauge you using? Everything is perfect from your execution to your tone.
@freudstein58602 ай бұрын
I used both tab and by ear. If I noticed a part in the tab is wrong (which is very common) then I'll figure it out by ear. The strings I use on that guitar are 10-62. I also used a Boss HM2 for this video!
@jacobsamano97612 ай бұрын
@@freudstein5860hey I really appreciate you replying to my comment. That’s why I asked about the preferred method you used to learn the song because I happen to be exactly like you in the method used to learn a piece. I like to use a tab at the very least as a reference point because it helps speed up the process for finding out which chords and notes are played and what areas of the neck are used most in a song or in specific sections of a song. I think tabs get a bad rap mainly because the errors they tend to have are on the rhythm side and how many times a certain chord or notes are strummed or picked rather than the actual correct chords or notes being used. Having the song in my head makes the rhythm part easy for me but referencing the tab for finding the exact chord shapes is what really helps me. I just finally was able to buy an electric guitar again a week ago after 2 long years of not having any guitar or amp. I bought a Matte Black EVH Wolfgang Standard with an EVH branded Floyd Rose bridge and a baked maple neck. It was $400 used and I asked them if they could drop it down to $360 so I am extremely happy. However I kept having frustrating issues with string buzz at various places along the neck even after many different truss rod adjustments and bridge height adjustments trying to find a sweet setup spot. It came with 09-42 gauge strings which are pretty light in my opinion for Metal playing which I think was a large reason for having such trouble with the setup so I just ordered a set of 10-60 gauge strings and I really hope this helps to alleviate much of the string buzzing issues. I do t have any effects pedals in my possession but I was able to afford 2 small practice amps so that I would have a decent rig for playing in my bedroom. At the same used music store that I found the guitar I also found a used Randall KH-15 amp which is a small 2 channel amp with a good sounding clean channel but more importantly a great sounding distortion channel especially for this size and it even has a “Boost” button which basically acts like a tube screamer to tighten up the distortion and sounds great. Another really cool design of the amp is that the clean channel has an independent volume control and the distortion channel has an independent volume control and the amp has a master volume control as well. Then for the clean sounds I got a used Vox Pathfinder 10 amp which is a small 2 channel amp as well with an amazing clean channel and a surprisingly great sounding distortion channel. So the combination of the distortion channel on the Randall amp and the clean channel on the Vox amp allows me to have a really great sounding rig that is perfectly sized and loud for bedroom playing without pissing off neighbors or sounding crappy and uninspiring.
