The Entrapta/Hordak character dynamic is one of my favorite things about this show. Entrapta _completely_ fails to pick up on his attempts to be menacing, and just approaches him as a fellow tech enthusiast. And Hordak, who has quite possibly _never_ had any social interaction with someone who views him as their equal, has _no idea_ what to make of it.

Kinda reminds me how Archimedes allegedly died, during the siege of Syracuse, when one Roman soldier found him drawing circles and geometric calculations in the sand, and when Archimedes ignored his command to move and replied "Do not disturb my circles!", the soldier killed him.

Between those random soldiers and the random monks that wiped his book of notes clean, we're looking at just a handful of people tops, who no-one knows the names of, likely setting back science around 1000 years, give or take, because it's such an important tool for science, and we had to wait for Newton for someone to come along and restart and complete what he was working on with those circles.

As someone who’s autistic and adhd, Entrapta’s entire character is so near and dear to my heart. I’m not exactly a scientist, but with my special interests I’m just as intense and unrelenting, to the point where other people tend to think it’s a caricature or something I’m playing up for the drama of it. It’s nice to feel so seen.

I really like that the writers show that despite being mostly adjusted to the world by now, the Horde still has and will always have a major impact on Adora. She didn't even realize those princess stories were propaganda despite being away from the Horde for months at this point, and the behaviors she developed to protect herself in the Horde will unfortunately be very difficult to live with and some of them she might never get rid of, but the writers addressing this is why I really love and appreciate the character writing of the show.

Yeah, mad respect to Catra here, she didnt want her friend to get murdered. It was great how, due to Entrapta getting Hordak's trust and this causing problems for HER, this concern ended up turning into jealousy and a rivalry within Catra's head, culminating in the betrayal at the end of the season, a weird parallel to what happened with Adora (with Scorpia's walking away mirroring the other half of that conflict). Catra's hangups with Adora are so fucked that they prevent her from looking at her other friendships with a clear head.

Something I only realize now, on rewatch, about this episode is that after seeing what Hordak does to people who disturb him, Catra(in a mean way) was trying to protect Entrapta. Entrapta being hurt by Hordak wouldn't affect Catra at all, but she still goes out of her way to keep her safe. Even when she saw her with him in the lab, the first thing she does is make an excuse for her so she doesn't get harmed.

That made me think that she also acted a lot like Adora there, Adora always made excuses to get Catra out of bad situations, like in the first episode when Catra is late and in other flashbacked interactions with Shadowever

That's lowkey one of my favorite scenes in Season 2. Catra, deep down, is a fairly empathetic person, and legitimately wants to keep Entrapta safe, but she fundamentally doesn't believe that people will listen to her if she's not threatening them in some way. As someone else said, she's good at empathy, bad at sympathy (contrast Adora, who's the opposite). And so, we get a scene of someone who doesn't understand how to interact with people in one way, interacting with someone who doesn't understand how to interact with people in a completely different way. So many of the Horde folks are just so bad at communication, and their circumstances don't help with that at all.

Something I didn't notice the first time watching this is there are parallels between the way Hordak treats Catra vs Entrapta and the way Shadowweaver treated Catra vs Adora. This is the 2nd time Catra and someone else have gone into their bosses sanctum without permission and the 2nd time only Catra was punished for it.

Don't forget that Adora is the first She-ra in 1000 years. Unless Hordak is immortal he couldn't have arrived at Etheria and be stuck there when Mara was She-ra. Plus Scorpia said in Princess Prom that the Horde crash landed in her family's kingdom.

Goodness, and this was the point that I realized this show was going to make me like the villains too lol. To be fair, I tend to like the villans anyway, but being someone who identifies with Entrapta a lot, her interactions with Hordak are a treat. (Not to mention I still like pretty much everyone in the horde excluding maybe shadow weaver? I honestly have such a soft spot for Kyle, Scorpia and many of the other horde characters)

They really are and it's great. Their ability to really understand and analyze the stuff they're watching at a fairly deep level and articulate it quick enough for it to be in the reaction video is really enjoyable. I am on this ep and I think that was a map of the stars/planets. I think Mara destroyed that tower because it is related to that star map and the portals Hordac is trying to get working. Catra was manipulated by Shadoweaver and she learn to manipulate from her, she hoped to be more appropriated by Hordac, when he also manipulate her but in even worse. The only person that didn't manipulate Catra was Adora and she couldn't leave with her because she felt controlled and jealous of Adora!It is tough! Just the idea of Entraptha being able to HACK, Hordac as a robot with a consciousness, makes me feel really happy, so bad it won't happen!

Madame Razz said there are no more stars. Lighthope said Mara put the entire planet into the dimension of Despondos. Hordak said this is the only planet he’s been to where the people are entirely unaware of other planets. Etheria is a planet all alone in the dimension it’s in. Space is empty. There are no stars, no planets. Also, Scorpia said the horde crash-landed on Etheria, so it could be surmised they’re from space. Thing is, since Etheria is alone, where did the Horde come from? Could it have to do with Hordak making portals?
