But obviously in modern times everyone and their mother's got a phone which tells time, so asking an officer is... well, not pointless, but it's just like asking any other person, regardless of their job.

This episode aired in 2006 and sure enough not 3 years later (a time he said they'd be making 30% profit) EVERYONE has Google maps on their phone, which does this for free and considerably better than anyone trying to give directions to someone OVER THE PHONE. Ridiculous idea. Add to that the general growing distrust/hatred towards charged phone calls/phone calls in general, and you have a challenger for the worst invention I've ever seen. He didn't make £15 a day. He said he would be a very happy man if he made that. As it turns out he never even made £15 as one of the taxi drivers said he signed up for a number of years never received one call. All that money spent on advertising including the dragons den appearance, would be more than what the business made. This is the worst business idea ever on the show. At least the flow signal pole could be turned into a beacon to show a location at night then it would have some use. For example, warn ships of a rocky area near a port.
