This line up of Enuff Z Nuff represents the band at their very best. How is it that these guys fell short of super stardom ? Their self titled debut album was pure class. Enuff z Nuff were always a tour de force of top quality song writing/ and musical talent.

Really strong band...lost at sea in a swirling change of the guard. I think most the kids at the time wanted absolutely nothing to do with anything remotely resembling 80's rock. These guys would have been bigger during almost any other period. Great voice!

The record co messed up by plugging them into the hair metal niche at the end of that run. If they’d just been marketed something like Black Crowes or Lenny Kravitz, (or in the long term, Jellyfish) they would’ve had more staying power. I’d say even Tesla has faired a bit better

This band should have been huge but the powers in control were pushing the lame Grunge that nobody wants to hear anymore. I talked with Derek about this gig and he told me that Donnie was actualy kinda pissed about his lead on this performance and I assured Derek that he kicked ass and to not let a comment that was probably said out of nerves or whatever take away from what he did. Derek was really humble about his playing and did not act like he knew how unique and gifted he was. He also mentioned that there was a lot of pressure from the show to conform to their rules on Anton playing drums and he said Anton was kinda not that cool but he said Paul and Will were great. The performance holds up and actually seems better with time. The band should be very proud of what they accomplished and Donnies perfectionism was a true testament to his artistic commitment. Chip is always the soldier and one of the greatest bass players ever and he knows how to tweak the songs to turn them into gold. This band should be recognized as the one the all time greatest in Rock!

One of the stipulations of the Late Night show was that the full bands weren't allowed to perform like on the Tonight Show. Also they weren't allowed horns but Sanborn always seemed to be there Friday nights if not him then the guys that ended up on the Late Show show on horns. You can see Anton looking at the chart to see what was what. Will said he liked to sight read on the first go as if he knew it a bit he'd fk up more often. The World's Most Dangerous Band indeed!

i love donnie and chip, especially donnie. he is one of my favorite vocal-/lyricists. ive come back to this performance a few times because it blows me away. i now totally get donnie when he refers to deriks playing as "all that guitar jabberwocky". one of the squeals in the middle of the song was so out of left field you actually see a flash of irritation because donnie was singing and the guitar seemed to rudely interrupt. it was also turned up to loud, and all thd trills finger tricks and squeals at the end kinda took away from the overall vibe! i kinda blame frigo and fox for this duo not getting the recognition due them because they seemed too comfortable in the LA hair scene which misclassified the heart and soul of enuff znuff.

I'm going to back you on this. One of the things that killed this type of music (and made way for grunge) was the overkill, the saturation. It became annoying. By this time, no one was impressed by this. Not that it didn't take skill, but if you eat pizza every. single. day.... you're gonna grow to hate pizza. I also know Frigo had his fans, and he was a damn-good guitarist. Find some videos of him playing in clubs... man, he was good. It just didn't pair up right for them and it's largely the label's fault. EZN wanted to be power pop. Early on, the label wanted them to be Glam. What a bad mix.

by this pont it was too late, all the kids were being told that guitar solos were lame and they were diving head first into that thing. and as we all know only one type of rock and roll can be popular and cool at a time, for some reason.
@chris-fc9im5 жыл бұрын
Awsome , wish they did more bridges and open areas in these songs and let that guitarist out of the box though , seems odd to have a talent like that basically having to play in a cage. The guitarist sets this bands songs on fire !

If only EZN sounded that good live on their own tours. For such an awesome studio sound band, their live shoes sucked. The only reason they probably sounded so good here was due to them using the Letterman Shows sound system.
