Enugu onitsha highway is a kind of road dat should allow 3 to 4 cars or heavy trailers moving freely at a high speed..... cos it's a road wit high amount of traffic,, same should should apply to evry highway in nigeria... I agree that the torrential rainfall in the East is so intense that it can wash away any man-made structures with roads being no exception. The solution is reinforced construction so the road can withstand the wear and tear of the weather and everyday use. We need to construct our roads like airport tarmacs.

That road will not be able to handle the high commerce traffic for a sustained period. Something worth doing is worth done well. Who handled the compaction testing on these roads? What diameter or rods or qaulity of cement was used before the thin asphalt was laid? Why is there a demarcation between the road and the drainage concrete. By the way, why aren't a german floor style for flood control and protection of edge of the paved road. Waiting for your answer Mr Fsshola.

I used to respect Dashiki as a competent man. We thought he did well in Lagos and will do well as Minister. We were wrong. The man is the most incompetent Works Minister since 1999 He does not believe in road maintence that cost little. He is more interested in massive expensive// rehabilitation or better reconstruction. Come to Port Harcourt About road. Look at Benin Warriors road. There are many other roads across the country like these. What we want FG to do is the maintain the road and not wait till they have deteriorated. Let the Federal road maintenance Agency work. It has not been working under Fashola

What is the point of the "death traps" serving as a median-separation between the two lanes...so so terrible. The drain should have served as an added emergency lane and possibly additional lane in the nearest future. Terrible application of Project Management.

This is part of the problem in nigeria.These roads should be state roads not federal.Federal should build 4 or 5 lagos lbadan type of roads from south to north.One from lagos to the north,another one from ondo to the north,one from warri to the north,from portharcout to the north and calabar to the north.This is much like in the uk and it's alot more effecient and economical.lf only nigeria has a government.

You never reported when this road was killing people on daily basis. You appreciate being given half baked bread. Kudos. Think right, this is poor construction. Erosion is not properly guided. I made the same comment when Jim Nwobodo the then governor aid the initial construction of the road by Italian construction company. Government should stop playing politics with citizens life and do the right thing. There should be provision for highway light and proper drainage. It is time we wakeup from our slumber.
