Thank you for the review, Nick. Somehow, whenever you explain something I learn it better than ever. I wish you were my science teacher back in the nineties :-)

Thanks for the overview and testing. Cool unit. However while $700+ for the initial purchase can be justified, $750 every 2 years for recommended filter changes is kinda rough.

For a household the price is up there but for a MakerSpace or shop it might be worth it. After testing I moved it to my girlfriend's business (hair nails and skin) as a lot of the products she uses release VOCs or are very powdery. Regardless, glad you found it interesting, I have a few video ideas lined up for this winter.

Glad you liked it, I was hesitant to take on a sponsored project but there ended up being quite a bit of investigation involved.

Thanks, this ended up being quite a bit more involved that I originally expected. I'll be trying to keep them more concise in the future.

@@NickMoore I think by giving such a detailed overview as to how a UV filter works, it fits perfectly into the theme of the channel. Further reduction in time may compromise the educational value of the video.

I purchased using your code, I plan to use it in a room where I 3d print using fdm and sla. It would be great if you could do a follow-up video showing how it deals with resin fumes. It could be useful to many as that technology becomes more common with the recent cheap msla printers hitting the market.

I'm not sure how to measure its effectiveness for that but I have the anecdotal evidence from running it at home. In addition to removing cooking smells it also removed the smell of bleach and alcohol (bathroom cleaning and equipment cleaning) fairly quickly. I have had my eye on Form's printers for ages but with the new, cheaper, resin printers I might actually get into the market. If I do the filter will probably end up in the 'printing room.'

Interesting Nick. If I'm going to watch an ad to support a KZbinr I like, I may as well learn something in the process!

Thanks. They gave me free run over the video so I went at it the same way I go at any topic. I was surprised at the mechanisms used in both the hepa filter and the VOC filter. I'm not sure if it is used in this case but TiO2 is used in conjunction with UV-C as a self-sterilizing surface.
@nodfactor88084 жыл бұрын
Really surprised it doesn't have a pre-filter for the larger particulates.
@NickMoore4 жыл бұрын
The VOC filter seems to act as a pre-filter for large stuff like hair or lint.

Have been using it since this video and yeah, it takes a load of dust out of the room.

@@NickMoore I have one too I got a year ago. The HEPA filter lasts for two years right?
@NickMoore4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the dust load but I haven't noticed any drop off in filtering over the past year.
