No building permit without ECC. No business permit and certificate of occupancy if no building permit. There is an irregularity if the owner of the resort was able to secure a building permit. The LGU played a large part in this controversy.

In the first place, that place should have been protected long time ago. At dapat nilimatan ang mga tao. Sa dami ng lugar bakit doon pa sila sasasak. Ang problema kasi sa ibang tao sarili lang nila iniisip nila at nalilimutan ang pangkalahatan. Pwedeng i- recolate ang tao dahil merpng ibang lugar na pagsasaksakan. People should have a broder mind set kung hindi, magiging tambakan na ang hindi dapat. Chocolate hills is a heritage cite since before all of us were born. Think about it. ​

OMG...the old undying Filipino line. Kawawa naman ang mga tao na nag tatrabaho dyan...hwag na lang sana nila ipasara. Well, you are not supposed to deface or spoil protected heritage areas. DENR making resolutions to enable or allow it to happen...only means some government officials made some money. If not, everyone involved is incompetent and shouldn't be working in government, and charges should be filed against them. Just my opinion. A couple of questions: 1) Why or How did someone acquire a title from those protected heritage areas? 2) If the protected land had a titled owner when the government declared it a protected heritage zone/area...why didn't the government appropriate those lands? For me, taking those lands back would have been the logical move in protecting those lands.

The irony of it also who endorsed it to be a heritage site, surely not from bohol. those lands have individually titled long ago, been already a community long ago before it was declared a heritage site.the locals there never asked to be part of a heritage site. this chocolate hill's area are composed of 5 towns, what would you to its population? in an outsider hindsight it is easy to prejudice the actions of the locals because you're not affected, but to them to the locals it is injustice, sowing the seeds of rebellion. fast fact from 1744 to 1829 Bohol was not part of the Spanish Philippines.

DENR must be investigated on this issue how the resort was able to get ownership in the area construction was made without ECC from the agency. The resort damage the natural environmental condition of the protected area. it should be demolish and re-sinstate the original perspective of the affected areas.

Amazingly! Upon presentation of letter of intent to construct, inspection-on-site shall be conducted by appropriate/responsible person who has the sole responsibility. The structure was constructed and had operated for some time without/with knowledge of these parties.

The Politicians biting each others back sides instead of coming to a common sence decision and re-opening with some basic changes. The place employs 18 people who feed their families, the resort teaches scores of children how to swim. The local community really love this facility and it is the local community that has lovingly cared for these hills for thousands of years. Its because of the man management of local people of Bohol that the hills exist as they are. Politicians should help communities not lecture communities

there is nothing to inspect there! first check your (denr) repository if that land is alienable and disposable according to the constitution on classification of lands. then if not, why is this private person able to build a resort there? if alienable and titled to a private person, then they have all the right to build a reaort there!

a serious case should be filed against the owner...the owner uses the unemploymment of its few employees an excuse for non closure of the resort n the owner knowingly know that their ceriticate of compliance is not completed should not have pursued the construction n blames the LGU for not closing the resort....ignorance of the law excuses no one....the owner should have made a research on the effect of construction on a Heritage site...what will happen after 4 years when it is inspected by UNESCO n takes back its rrcognition of the only heritage site in the Philippines....what now DOT....sayang di ba now that the Philippines is starting a boom in tourism w/c contrbutes a big part in our economy....the owners should be accountable...n the property being a private property does not excuse the ownera because there are strict conditions to be followed by the owners
