This is by far the best diy ring light ever , thank you so much. One question , about the led strip , in the store all i need is to ask for is a tungsten led strip no other specifications, or should i precise more about it , any otherinformation should i know about whene im purchasing?!

This is awesome; just as a bit of advice from someone that works with EVA foam a lot, you'll definitely get a cleaner look in the seams of the foam if you use a sharper blade like an Xacto knife, and you'll get better adhesion with contact cement. I'm glad I found this though as I do have several rolls of EVA foam laying around and I DO need a ring light for my streaming!

I don't have a light stand. Is there a way to make it so I can put it on a tripod?

i like your back wall in the shooting,... Is it Aluminium ?
@environmentallights7 жыл бұрын
it is! just shoot with a shallow DOF and light it with a color changing bulb for a super cool backdrop!

How did you go about mounting the camera/phone with this design? Do you just put the camera on a tripod behind the light? Does that create a problem with the distance it creates? The idea is to shoot through the center of the ring, right?
@environmentallights7 жыл бұрын
Exactly. With the camera on a tripod right behind the ring, the lens can stick through a bit so you don't get the ring in your shot.

So i am about to glue my LED strips butttt the other tutorial im digging on glues the lights on the inner circle facing out.. any reason you picked outer circle facing in? btw- great tutorial . 10/10 stoked I found it!! well done!
@environmentallights7 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks for checking out the video! You could glue them to the inner ring instead. The idea is to get the light to bounce around a bit before exiting the fixture to diffuse it a bit. I chose to use the outer ring since it was easier to have the wires exit the fixture right there (as you can see around the ~6:10 mark). Additionally, the strip light was 5 Meters long and it worked out perfectly that after wrapping the light around the ring, both ends of the strip came out at the same place, making the power inputs more accessible. Good luck with your ring light!
