I am looking for an instrument cluster with a tach built into it. The GMC Safari / Chevy Astro did not have a tachometer included. Since doing a V8 swap on my 2001 Safari AWD, I need a Tach and want to keep my dash clean and not cluttered with aftermarket accessories. I came across your video while looking into the 2003 GMC Top Kick cluster. I know it will have to be mod somewhat. Any suggestions for a good donor cluster?

My gauges work intermittently. If I press down on plug real hard it will some on. Is it a problem with cluster or the plug? It ran my battery dead other day so now I leave unplugged

I just changed out the incandescent bulbs and soldered purple LED’s . Put it back together, plugged it in and the cluster looks awesome. However, none of my gauges work now and either does the digital readout/PRND. Can you tell me why or what I need to do to fix it?

Would love to know what wires your connecting to positive to get everything to light up. I have A4 and A5 as grounds. A7 lights, A1 left turn signal, B10 right turn signal. What else do I need to connect to positive get everything to light up like in this video?

I have a 2005 envoy Denali my gauges are registering wrong so I kind of move the dials thought that would fix it lol and then it started smoking when I plugged it in from a little circuit board right underneath the RPM stepper motor do you have any clues... Second question is can I take another cluster out of another vehicle and put in my vehicle and will it work I don't care about the display on the bottom as long as the speedometer and everything works will it work or without programming

I cant find any videos of trailblazer cluster odometer error issue. It looks like its a bit more complicated then the silverado cluster when correcting the miles to the TL866 file. Ill watch if you post.

I've never seen a trailblazer with odometer error. Is the one you have with DIC or without?

@@FixedUntilBroken My issue is I just purchased a 2004 trailblazer. The guy I bought it from told me he just put a new cluster in the vehicle. He bought it at the junk yard. I have receipts. Because one of the gauges were not working. I'm guessing he thought it would be cheaper then sending his old cluster in for repair. As with most people he did not think the miles were saved in the cluster. Of course I told him no big deal as long as he still had the old cluster I can desolder the eeprom and transfer to the new cluster. Unfortunately he had thrown it away. So I'm stuck with a cluster with approx 30,000 miles more then the vehicle actually has. I purchased the TL86611 plus and the tachosoft softeware but the tachosoft when looking up where to enter the code is a bit confusing compared to the silverado there are many more lines showing and it says string 1 string 2 and string 3 which I don't quite understand. Was hoping maybe you could expain that alittle better for me.

Pin a5 is ground a7 is 12v+.

There are no markings on the Trailblazer dash cluster board have in front of me that says either A5 nor A7. How is one to know which polarity these LEDs are affixed to the board unless I just solder it, reinstall it, and cross my fingers that everything lights up? Updated: I believe the pins you are referring to are the 24 pins at the top of the board that connect to the vehicle's wiring harness. If so, they are not marked. I did a continuity check from the anode to every one of those 24 pins and from the cathode to every one of those pins and none of those pins have continuity with either side of any of the LEDs. @@FixedUntilBroken
