The Terraplane is a great pack..I still own and use mine and it is a 1995 model when it was still DanaDesign and made in Bozeman Mt...I received it as a gift from a friend who worked at the time for DD building these packs..It's had many miles put on it hiking around Montana while living there and throughout the years all over the US..They are a bit pricey but after seeing how it's held up after almost 25 years I'm actually considering purchasing a new Terraframe 80 for being able to carry extra load..Worth the money to me if it last a lifetime..

Agree, have had mine since 1994. There are lighter packs, but the durability and comfort is worth the 1-2 lbs you might save, I wish it was more rain resistant but I use a cover when it does rain.

I still have my Made In Bozeman MT Dana Design Terraplane I bought back in 1995. It’s has been to hell and back and still continues to make it up mountains on hunting trips.

Do you recocmend the Terraplane or the Terraframe. I don't need the overload feature but transport heavy losds.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the Terraplane. My mid/late 1990's Dana Designs Terraplane X has been a fantastic pack and performed very well over countless backpacking trips. It's been to the top of several PNW peaks including Rainier and has never let me down. If the newer Mystery Ranch versions are similar in quality they are worth the price.

It’s kinda cool to see the military version of the pack to be converted into a civilian one

I've had a Dana Design Terrplane since I was in Boy Scouts starting in like... 1999 or so. Padding is finally starting to break down, so unless my seamstress wife can fix it, it might be time for a Mystery Ranch edition.

That's a pretty long time to use the same pack! Let us know if you have any questions and our Gear Specialists can help you out!

Did they get the name back? I thought Marmot had the rights to DD's old iconic product names?
@Enwild5 жыл бұрын
Looks like Dana and company were able to hang on to the name somehow. Maybe the Terraplane name wasn't included in the initial sale. We'll ask him next time we see him.

Hi, Nice review. What's Troy's measurements, and what size of terraplane is he showing? This might be the backpack for me.

Everything sounded amazing, expect the price. The day they get people to not buy their name, MYR will get amazing sales.

The T100 is the same but 100L ?
@Enwild5 жыл бұрын
Hi Roy! Yes, the T100 is essentially a larger version of the Terraplane

@@Enwild Thanks for the reply ! Is it rain proof ? or during rain we must put a rain cover so the rain won't get in ?
@Enwild5 жыл бұрын
@@roygertel No problem! This pack is not waterproof, so you'll want a pack cover and/or pack liner.

Where is terraplane made
@Enwild3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Mystery Ranch manufactures this pack in both the Philippines and Vietnam. Thanks for asking!
