My favourite fable is one by Aesop. It tells of a journey that an old man made, with his young son and their donkey. Everyone they met on that journey had an opinion as to how the old man and his son should travel and, no matter what they did, someone complained about it. If the man rode the donkey, they were criticised. If the boy rode the donkey, they were criticised. If both rode the donkey they were criticised. If neither rode the donkey, they were criticised. They could not please everyone. In fact, they could not please anyone!

Well, again, it was Roma who came up with the title to ‘Caribbean Blue’, says Enya. “We had arranged the melody and she was reminded of the Caribbean, but then she felt it’s a trip of a difference. It’s like ‘Orinoco’ where you are taken through a dreamlike fantasy trip. She felt the same way about the music, and, therefore, she based the lyrics on this trip through this beautiful fantasy world.”

Just a quick note: the plucky/arp sound that is so iconic (and was also used in Storm is Africa, Orinoco Flow, and On My Way Home) is a Juno 6 (synth) sound. I finally discovered the sound and how to replicate it in my own music.

@@EnyaSailAway I used it in three different tracks. I used it in: "Where heart is," "The Kingdom of Summer," and "Airmid." something else that's really interesting about that particular sound.: Enya included another really iconic sound in songs like Lothlorien and Caribbean Blue. It's sort of this liquid sounding magical noise. It's actually the same instrument patch from the Roland Juno 60, however, she just increased the attack filter, so it doesn't have as hard of a pluck sound. So both the pluck sound, and the more liquid sound are the same instrument patch. Me and my engineer accidentally figured this out when we were playing around with the instrument. So I also include that "liquid" sound in some of my tracks. You can hear it most prominently in Caribbean Blue at the 13 second mark of the vid/song.
