this is one the biggest flaws in football. the way contracts work. Enzo should’ve been taken to court for refusing to come to training after he himself made the decision to sign for Benfica in the first place. Benfica was well within their right to say ‘NO’ to Chelsea. if only clubs would look more at situations like this and take a stand against players who want to hold up an entire club. it’s shameful on their part. i give props to American sports for having this down packed, you never really hear stories like this about a player holding his club hostage until he’s allowed to leave. these players are given way to much leverage, when it should be the club having all the leverage. and clubs should be allowed to take legal action for tampering the same way Chelsea was. seen it way too many times over the years. happened with Antony and Ajax over the summer, and Cesc and Arsenal as an older example
