I'll never forget watching this movie in theaters. I remember being so nervous seeing this movie in theaters. The reason why is because my dad, my sister, and I saw this movie the day after the horrible tragedy that happened in Colorado. My dad, sister, and I went to our local cinema for the 11:00 AM showing of The Dark Knight Rises and the whole theater from the auditorium to where they were playing the movie to the concession stands where people got snacks was full of people to see The Dark Knight Rises. On top of that, the whole parking lot was surrounded with police cars. I just remember everybody in line talking about what happened in Colorado. Everyone in line had this look on their faces like they were scared. Whenever someone had to go to the bathroom or get snacks, they would go with whoever they came along with. Also, whenever the auditorium door opened (it was closed during the movie), people would turn their heads to make sure it wasn't anything suspicious. It was a very tense experience and everyone felt the same way.

Btw, the way Bane stands with his hands by his collar is bc he’s always got a plate carrier on. A lot of people stand like that when wearing kevlar vests/ plate carriers. It’s actually more comfortable than standing with your hands by your side

Yep. Many hours upon hours standing watch with that on. Plus I couldn’t put my hands in my pockets.

It's also a flex pose for the cameras though. But practically, spot on. It is more comfortable; similar reason, in general, why people like putting their hands in their pockets with hoodies.

23:07 It's a common stance for people who wear the armor Bane does. I had two deployments in four years before I saw this movie. The way Bane moved and stood is exactly how we did with fifty pounds of body armor. Even some of his fighting made sense to me. People joke about Goku wearing weighted training clothes. It's not a joke, and adding 30-50 pounds to yourself to move around in will massively increase your cardio and strength training. Don't throw a dumbbell on your back, instead add 5-10 pounds on each body part and don't remove it. You'll burn a ridiculous amount of calories, and add a ton of muscle.

20:44, I heard that there was supposed to be a scene where Bane and his mercs storm Blackgate prison to free the prisoners and while they were open up the cells and freeing the prisoners, Bane came across a cell. He looked inside and saw the Joker. They stare at each other for a minute and Bane walked off, continuing to free the prisoners but left Joker locked in his cell, hinting that he knew about the Joker and the things he did and realized that he to much of a wildcard and couldn't be trusted to let out.

It's not mentioned in the movie what happened to Joker, though the novelization of the movie does suggest where he is. "Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina." (Nolan chose not to mention or address Joker out of respect for Heath Ledger, and didn't want to make any false spectacle over the real-life tragic passing.)
@KindredKeepsake

That's actually a pretty unsettling story! Especially with the thought of the Joker laughing, all alone in a padded cell. *Alone in the entire asylum, at that...* That's probably the worst punishment for a guy like him. No audience around.

You're kinda wrong. It was a "nod" to Robin. Blake was still going to become the new Batman. The theme of the trilogy was that anyone could be Batman... And The Batman was a symbol that would live forever. This is not my opinion this is Christopher Nolan's own description of events.

Great rewatching this film with you, J! I think I've seen this one the most out of the trilogy. I was recovering from massive shoulder surgery at the time, bored out of my skull at home in an immobilizer, so I would walk to the theatre 3 times a week just to get out of the house. This was the only film playing that I had the least interest in, so I watched it again and again and again. Okay, Anne Hathaway's Catwoman had A LOTto do with it as well. I grew up with the original Julie Newmar Catwoman, who jump started my puberty , but Hathaway's Catwoman is the best of them all (Newmar, Eartha Kitt, Lee Merriwether, Michelle Pfieffer, and Zoë Karvitz. We DO NOT speak of Halle Berry.)!

I understand your problem with Robin,, but in the more grounded world Nolan did with Batman, it way more believable Robin was a Cop beforehand not some circus performer! It covers the ground of why he is also a good detective too and not just someone who is acrobatic and fighting

Lol We know Blake can never be Batman because he's Robin as in "Batman and Robin" Robin 40:39, and 41:30 he's making the transition into the Nightwing

hey bro, Cleveland represents Ohio’s working class. Just saying. Same thing Cincinnati does for Kentucky and West Virginia.

People forget that it's a comic book movie: plot holes, gizmos, magic, and over-acting are to be expected.

The Christopher Nolan bat suit is the BEST one hands down. Please argue with me about it.
