Loosing count of how many times I have replayed this! I downloaded the adf's from poeut so will be cracking out an A500 later. Last time I was like this was first seeing Kefrens demos back when I first got a 500 in 1991/2. The bit where the woman turns into the vector dancer gives me goosebumps every single time! TBL have just blown me away! Amazing stuff :D

Was the fluidity of the animation achieved by using color cycling?
@d0dge9475 жыл бұрын
On one hand poly-streaming and on the other sub-pixel (faking), I guess. One thing is certain, though: in order to achieve the on-screen presence a lot of technical finesse and innovation had to be done on the backend side. That's where the coder-pr0n happened in this production.

Magnificent demo !!! It has been great TBL's idea to limit themselves to AMIGA 500 1MB. I'm totally impressed ! It's one of the best demos ever made for A500. It reminds me of ANOTHER WORLD game intro. The only minus is average music here. It's not on the same level as visual side but unfortunately there are no good musicians on demoscene now. The demo is GREAT but it would be mind blowing if it has music on similar level as it was in legendary demos like ARTE/SANITY or DESERT DREAM/KEFRENS for example. Anyway I'm waiting for further TBL productions ! RESPECT GUYS !

"The only minus is average music here. It's not on the same level as visual side but unfortunately there are no good musicians on demoscene now. " This is insulting with so many levels that I must response. Normally A500 can't play this music, because it hasn't enough memory. The samples are loaded and mixed on the fly while showing the demo at the full framerate at the same time. You may not like this tune, but this is exactly what TBL wanted. Dj Hoffman is perhaps the best musician at the scene right now and he can make any kind of music. 8-bit jungle. Amiga music disk full of jungle heaven/hell. You'll need unofficial patch to make this actually work on A500, because Hoffman isn't good coder. watch?v=--J66FY7qro Everyway. Hoffman's 64k intro for A500. watch?v=tshGRUDvsUs Exoframe. You are listening Amiga 4 channel doskpop in PC demo, but you wouldn't believe it. watch?v=PoAodHQJQwI Backscatter. Some dupstep in PC 40k intro. watch?v=2-7zCKYmQoM Makeshift. Some sid punishment in C64 4k intro. watch?v=AmDz_bP1XI4 Edit: Typos

Since the AGA demos were essentially chunky-framebuffer demos and streamed music, porting was easier. In this case I'd be genuinely surprised if an STe port sees the light of day.
